She attended the Midway Church, Coeburn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Myrtle Day; and three brothers, Junior Day, Charles Day and Ernest Day. She is survived by her husband, John R. Powers; three sons and daughters- in-law, Rodney and Lynn Powers and Herby and Justine Powers, all of Kingsport, and Michael and Ithena Powers of Wilmington, N.C.; three daughters and sons- in-law, Juanita and Arnold Mullins, Rebecca and Joe Kiser and Alisa and Kermit Evans, all of Coeburn; 11 grandchildren, Regina Powers, Wesley, Levi, Desiree and Jerica Powers, Kabrina Powers, Christopher Mullins, Matthew and Andrew Kiser and Amanda and Brittany Evans; one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Kiser; a sister, Virginia Hylton of Wise, Va.; three brothers, Johnny Day and Fred Day, both of Wise, and James Day of Coeburn. Funeral services will be conducted 8 p.m. Wednesday evening in the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel, Coeburn, with the Rev. Herby Powers and Rev. Kermit Evans officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening 5 p.m. until time of service at the Sturgill Funeral Home, Coeburn. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at the Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Coeburn. Sturgill Funeral Homes, Coeburn, in charge of arrangements.
