Trigiani BIG STONE GAP -- Anthony Joseph Trigiani, 69, passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002. A resident of Big Stone Gap since 1966, he was an active businessman at the time of his death. He was born March 17, 1933, in Roseto, Pa., the son of the late Michael A. and Yolanda Perin Trigiani. He also was preceded in death by Carlo and Lucia Spada Bonicelli, the parents of his wife, Ida Bonicelli Trigiani. In addition to Mrs. Trigiani, he is survived by seven children, Mary Yolanda, San Francisco; Lucia Anna, Alexandria; Adriana Marie and Timothy Stephenson, New York; Antonia Giovanna, New York, Michael Anthony and Lisa Marie (Tesoro), Nashville; Carlo Andrea and Tina Marie (Feeley), New York; and Francesca Joanna and Thomas Anthony Noone, Alexandria; five grandchildren, Anna Christina Noone, Matthew Calnan Noone, Luca Andrew Trigiani, Lucia Bonicelli Stephenson and Mary Alessandra Noone. Mr. Trigiani also is survived by a sister and two brothers, David M. Jackson, Mississippi, Josephine Ronca, Wind Gap, Pa., and Michael R. and Amelia (LeDonne), Roseto, Pa.; sisters and brother-in-law, Geraldine Bonicelli, Chisholm, Minn., and Irma C. and Michael F. Godfrey, St. Louis, Mo.; and a large extended family. He also was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Orlando A. Bonicelli and Michael F. Ronca; nephew, Donald Bonicelli; and niece, Michalynn Trigiani. Mr. Trigiani spent his childhood in Pennsylvania and attended Saint Francis Preparatory School in Spring Grove, where he was the valedictorian of his class. He went on to the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated with degrees in business administration and philosophy. While at Notre Dame, he was a member of the Blue Circle, an academic society and the Glee Club, for which he served as business manager. He also met his wife there and they were married in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus in October 1956. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, which he served from 1956 to 1958 in Georgia and Hawaii. After arriving in southwest Virginia, he was active in charity work, community efforts and Republican politics. He served on the boards of Saint Mary's Hospital, Norton and in Big Stone Gap, Community Concerts and the Child Development Center, which he helped to found. He served as the chairman of the Wise County Republican Party. A Roman Catholic, he helped to found the local council of the Knights of Columbus and served on the building committee of Saint Anthony's Catholic Church, Norton. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home, 956 Park Ave., Norton. A Mass of Remembrance will be celebrated by The Most Reverend Walter F. Sullivan, Bishop of Richmond, on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 11 a.m. at Saint Anthony's Church, 1009 Virginia Ave., Norton. Burial will follow at a later date in the family mausoleum in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Roseto, Pa. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Sister Anne Christina Trust, P.O.
