*Thomas Chapman was born late enough to be John P. Chapman's grandson instead 
of his son.  Thomas' name was on John P's Bible record where this information 
was taken from.  I have no record of John P. having a second marriage.  
        

(Submitter note: My 2nd great grandfather John P. Chapman was born in Wythe County, VA on 
March 9, 1793.  I have not been able to learn the names of his parents, 
grandparents, siblings, etc.  I do know that he married Sarah Humphrey McLin 
in Blount County, Tn and he is buried in Loudon County, TN in Unitia 
Cemetary.  I was told by someone else who had Chapmans in Wythe Co, VA about 
the same time John P. Chapman was born there that there were only 2 Chapman 
families there at that time.  Anyone having information about this Chapman family please 
contact me.)
