Blevins RURAL RETREAT, Va. -- Elder Roy Everett Blevins, 70, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at his home. He was a retired employee of United Telephone Company. He was a member of St. Clair Bottom Primitive Baptist Church where he served as pastor for 30 years. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Elizabeth Martin Blevins; two sons, Timothy Roy and wife, Susan P. Blevins, Wytheville, Randy Steven Blevins, Rural Retreat, Va.; one daughter, Pamela Blevins Tarter, Rural Retreat; three brothers, Hugh M. Blevins, Lakeland, Fla., Sammy L. Blevins and Ben H. Blevins, both of Marion; two sisters, Beulah Nunn, Marion and Mabel Jordan, Bristol Tennessee; two grandchildren, Amanda B. and husband James E. Runyon, Kimberly T. Hayes; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Blair, Gabbriel Runyon and Chloe Hayes; two step-grandchildren, Chad and wife Meagan Parcell and Kelli Morehead; and two step-great-grandchildren, Adrian Parcell and Jadan Parcell. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the St. Clair Bottom Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Daniel C. Blevins Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Clair Bottom Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Randy Blevins, 5632 W. Lee Highway, Rural Retreat, VA 24368. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. There will not be any viewing or visitation at the funeral home. Williams Funeral Home, Chilhowie, is in charge of arrangements.
