Frye WYTHEVILLE - Hiram Peyton Frye, 83, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, in the Wythe County Community Hospital. He was the son of the late Hiram D. and Mollie Houseman Frye. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the Evergreen United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Grubb Frye. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Foye and Peggy Frye of Marion; sister, Clara Catron of Wytheville; grandson, Billy Frye of Herndon; special nephew, Chalmer Frye of Wytheville; and several nieces, nephews and sisters- in-law also survive. Funeral service will be Monday 1 p.m. in the Evergreen United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Bob Carbary and Shermon Dixon with the interment in the Evergreen Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour before service time. The family will receive friends at the Grubb Funeral Home Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Evergreen Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 144, Wytheville, VA 24382. The American Legion Post 9 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends after the service at the Evergreen Church Community Center. The Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
