Peck Lula Campbell Findlay Peck, 83, died Thursday, August 7, 2003, at Asbury Place, Wytheville, Va. Mrs. Peck was born February 11, 1920 in Wytheville, Va., to the late Frank S. Findlay Sr. and Lula Bell Campbell Findlay. She was raised by her grandmother, Kate Spiller Campbell, and aunt, Eulalia Campbell, in Nashville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank S. Findlay Jr., John Campbell Findlay and Father Harris M. Findlay. Mrs. Peck and her late husband, Virgil Glenn Peck, lived in Kingsport, where she was active in the Holston Valley Auxiliary, Girl Scouts, the Salvation Army Girl Guards and the Civil Air Patrol. She worshiped with the King's Highway Temple. Survivors include her niece, Kathryn "Ty" Findlay Roop and family, Wayne, Che, Mia, Kevin and Helen Roop; stepsisters, Louise Findlay Smith, Mildred Little and Janet Dering; sisters-in-law, Virginia Boettger and Betty Trubey; and cousins, Tom Findlay, Jean Gorman, Laura Bassett and Linda Meadows. Because of her loving heart and caring soul, she blessed the lives of her foster daughter, DeRhonda Williams and family, Walter and Julie Williams, Melissa, Larry, Janice and Jamie Tester; and her foster son, Roy Kaye and his wife, Carolyn Kaye. Calling hours are from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 10, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport. A memorial service for Mrs. Peck will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Richard K. Dice officiating. Memorials may be made to the organization of one's choice. Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
