She was born in Smyth County, Va., the daughter of the late Lindsey Alexander and Laura Gaye Gullion Brooks. Mrs. McMillan was preceded in death by four brothers, Luther Hall, Eugene Hall, Truby Hall and Elmer Brooks. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law: Linda and James Newman of Waynesboro, Va.; and Ann MacLeod of Elkton, Va.; one son and daughter-in-law: Charles and Martha Jane McMillan of Rural Retreat; one sister: Eva Weaver Davis of Rural Retreat; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren also survive. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2003, at the Mountain View Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the Lindsey Funeral Home or at the residence at any time. The family suggests that those who prefer may make memorials to Virginia's Hospice, P.O. Box 257, Rural Retrat, VA 24368. Lindsey Funeral Home, Rural Retreat, is in charge of arrangements.
