In the name of God Amen. I MATTHIAS FICKLE, of the State of Virginia and County of Wythe being weak of body but of perfect health of mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of my body: I recommend my soul to God that gave it and my body to be buried at the direction of my executor and as touching the worldly goods wherein it hath been pleased God to bless me with. I desire of in manner and form following: Imprimise:---after paying all that in justice owe, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife MARY all the lands and all the house hold furniture of every description that I now possess; with all my stock of cattle and three head of horses. I likewise, I give and bequeath to my son ABSOLAM FICKLE one two years old sorrel mare and saddle with all my wearing apparel. I give and bequeath to my son DANIEL FICKLE five pounds. I give and bequeath to my daughter POLLY CRABS five pounds. And at the end of two years, I give and bequeath to my son MATTHIAS FICKLE half my lands and five pounds; And if my son Absolam should survive my wife, then for him to have all that shall be of my estate that was left to my wife real and personal. Revoking and disannulling all other wills and testaments heretofore by me made and this only to remain my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto affirm my seal this fourth day of August one thousand eight hundred and one. I constitute my wife Mary, my son Matthias Fickle, my son Absolam Fickle my executors.
