YORK COUNTY, VA - CEMETERIES – Two Cemeteries ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection LVA Titled Files: Survey Report, A graveyard: 1936 Research made by Mary Elizabeth White Cemetery Location: York Co., Virginia LOCATION: There is a graveyard down Hunt’s Neck Road about .5 mile and turn and go down a road called Pasture Road to the right and go down about 1 mile, then turn to the left and go through a forest about a half a mile. There are some old stones (they are just rocks with the names carved upon the,.) Only one was readable and that was: ____ S. Dixon Died Sept. 24, 1778 The rest of the graves were either sunken with no stones on them or the stones were blank or unreadable. There is another graveyard also down Hunt’s Neck Road about 1 mile on the right side about 300 yards from the main road (Hunt’s Neck Road) but this graveyard was so old that the stones had either been carried away or were buried down under the ground.
