TOOK THE BOTTLE FROM CUPBOARD Doctor Was Summoned But He Arrived Too Late to Do Anything for Boy - Baby Terribly Scalded - Captain Bradford [sic; Bradshaw] Has Bad Fall at Messicks. Paul Evans, seven years old, the son of Capt. and Mrs. William Evans, is dead in his home in Messick's York county, from the effects of drinking a pint of whisky. According to information received in Hampton yesterday, the little boy got the bottle of liquor from the cupboard by climbing upon a chair. He drank every drop in the bottle. A few minutes later Mrs. Evans noticed that the child was ill and upon investigation discovered that he had drunk the liquor. Mrs. Evans gave the boy an emetic and then hastily sent for Dr. Fay Sinclair whose office is near Messick's. When Dr. Sinclair reached the home of Mr. Evans the boy had become unconscious and the physician found that he was beyond medical treatment. Dr. Sinclair however, worked over the boy for two hours, but the little patient never regained consciousness and expired shortly after 1 o'clock. It is said that the little follow died in the greatest agony. Capt. Evans is a well known waterman around this section, being in charge of a large gasolene boat owned by Capt. Wainwright. He was not at home when the little boy drank the whisky, but was located and returned to his home shortly after the death of his son. Funeral services will be conducted from the home of Capt. Evans to-morrow. Willie Messick Burned. Another serious accident that occurrcd in Messick's yesterday was that which befell Willie Messick, the eleven months old son of Mr. and Mrs. William Messick. The brother of the infant let a pot of boiling water fall upon the child, terribly scaulding him. It is thought he will recover. Dr. Sinclair also attended this case. Mr. Bradshaw's Fall. Capt. Harry Bradshaw, a well known young man of the Messick's neighborhood, had a terrible fall on Monday night, which for a time was the cause of deep concern to his friends. The fall rendered the young man unconscious, but yesterday he had regained consciousness and it was said that he will be able to leave his room in a day or so. Capt. Bradshaw was attending to the shipment of oysters on Messick's wharf, when he lost his balance and fell a distance of about eight feet. Dr. Sinclair attended him. Paul D. EVANS, son of Capt.
