Wood/Jordan Marriage Record, 1797 - York Co. VA

Know all men by these presents that we Meade Wood and Henry Jordan are
held and firmly bound with James Wood Esuire Governor or chief
magistrate of the Commonwealth of Virginia in the sum one hundred and
fifty dollars to be paid to the said Governor and his successors to
which payment will and truly to be made we bind ourselves our Heirs,
Exors of admin (very hard to read) jointly and personally (??) firmly by
these presents.  Sealed with our seals and dated this  21st day of
August 1797.

The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a
marriage intended shortly to be had solemnized between the above bound
Meade Wood and Sally Jordan Spinster now if there be no lawfulness to
obstruct the said marriage the above obligation to be void or else to
remain in full force and virtue.  Sealed and Delivered in presence of
Henry Jordin.  Seal and  Med Wood Seal
