(CHURCH) JONAS, 9180 County Farm Rd., Parma, MI 49269 e-mail; D50j100@aol.com Book 16, page 170, SHAFTSBURY, BENNINGTON CO., VERMONT, 29 June 1852 Know all men by these presents, that we Clark ELWELL & Sally ELWELL wife of said Clark of Shaftsbury in the County of Bennington and State of Vermont for the consideration of one hundred dollars recieved to our full satisfaction of Ira CHURCH of Shaftsbury in the County of Bennington and State of Vermont do give grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Ira CHURCH his heirs and assigns a certain part or parcel of Land situate in Shaftsbury aforesaid and described as follows. Bounded North by Storam(?) PIERCES land East by Isaiah MATTESONS land South by lands formerly owned by David MILINGTON and West by lands formerly owned by Clark ELWELL supposed to contain about five acres be the same more or less and being the same formerly owned by Philomon(?) ELWELL and heirs. To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof unto the said Ira CHURCH his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof and also we the said Clark & Sally ELWELL for ourselves and heirs executors and administrators covenant with the said Ira CHURCH his heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing of these presents we are well seized of the premises as a good and indefeusible estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as above written and that the same is free from all incumberances whatsoever. And furthermore we the said Clark & Sally ELWELL do by these presents bind a----(?) & ---(?0 to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to the said Ira CHURCH his heirs and assigns against all claims and demands whatsoever, In witness whereof we have herunto set our hands and seals this 29 day of June AD1852, Signed and Sealed in presence of; Dennis J.
