Clark, Research Publication Company, Burlington And Boston, 1904, P.18. Hutchins, Elijah S. Aged 59, Milwaukee, Wis., private in company commanded by Capt. Myron Reed and Lieut. Peter I. Allen, in Col. George Tyler's Regiment, Vermont Militia. He volunteered at Jericho, September 7, 1814, for the defence (sic) of Plattsburgh. During the day he was made assistant to his father, Eleazer, who was surgeon of the regiment and helped care for the wounded during the battle and for a few days after. He was discharged at Plattsburgh, September 14. Application made October 7, 1856. Witnesses, William E. Webster and Charles McDonald of Milwaukee, Wis., Justice William Holland, William Rouse, and Sylvans Blodgett.
