Stearns Early Swanton Families: William H. Stearns came from Canada, located at the village. He had 8 children. William died in 1875 at age 65. His son, George B. Stearns was born in 1852. Public Houses: The Old Stearns Stand, located near the large house of C.H. Bullard. First managed by Ezra Jones commencing 1805/06 to 1812; Nathaniel Stearns managed the place from 1812-1825. The Inn burned down in 1858.
