Ledoux; Published By The Swanton Historical Society. Rich, C.W. (Charles Wright) Rich, Davis Rich, Ernest Rich, Florence Rich, John P. Rich, Leonard Charles Wright Rich, son of Judge Davis Rich, born March 29, 1817, came from Shoreham in 1840. He died August 27, 1889. He first married in 1854 to Julia E. Parker, daughter of John G. Parker. Their children were Charles and John. His 2nd marriage in 1863 to Mrs. Louisa H. Hayden, daughter of Benjamin R. Harwood of Boston. They had 2 children, Ellen Harwood and Robert Darius. Charles Wright Rich found lime rocks on his farm, located midway between Swanton and St. Albans in 1847 and built kilns (for processing). Four years later, the Vermont Central Railroad built a track through his farm enabling him to expand his business known then as the Swanton Quarry.
