Obituary for William H. Heintz died 1968

William Henry Heintz 79, died Saturday at Gifford Memorial Hospital in Randolph
after a long illness. He was born Aug. 4, 1889, in Peoria, Ill. the son of William
and Maria (Werner) Heintz. He attended Peoria schools and was graduated from the
Chicago Art Institute. He conducted an art school in Jamaica, N.Y. for many years
before becoming a photoengraver in New York. He purchased a home in Gaysville in
1939, and since 1952, when he retired, he had resided there permanently. He was a
veteran of World War I, having served in France with the Expeditionary Forces. He
was a member of the White River Chapter, OES, and the American Legion Post 66, all
of Bethel. He was also a member of the photoengravers square club and union in New
York City. His first wife, Gladys, died in 1956. On Sept. 21, 1959 he married Hazel
Meyers of Angola, Ind. He leaves his wife, two sons, William T. of Bethel and Ralph
of East Hartford, Conn.; four daughters, Mrs. Marie Walker of Bethel, Mrs. Mae
Livengood of Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Mary Herlicy of North Lake Ill., and Mrs. Betty
Newton of Arcadia, Cal. a brother, Ralph Heintz, a sister, Mrs. Minnie Rogy, both of
Peoria: 22 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held
Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Day Funeral Home in Randolph with the Rev.
Gerturde Lindener, pastor of the United Church of Bethel, officiating. A Masonic
service was conducted by Manuel Miller. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetary in
Bethel in the spring. Bearers were masons, Lee Richardson, Mario Pa... couldn't make
out the last name, James Grafton, John Aprilliano, Everett Dutton and Newall Wood.
The American Flag draping the casket was presented to Mrs. Heintz by Ret. Major
Gordon Campbell of Bethel. Many masons were among those attending the funeral
services. The family suggested that those who wished send donations to the Gifford
Memorial Hospital Expansion Fund, in care of John Emans of Randolph.
