Nelson, Vol. 2, ©1978, pages 74 and 75: THE MEACHAM-MECHAM FAMILY His son Jeremiah married Mary Trask on December 3, 1672, at Salem [Vt.]. Following her death he married Deborah Brown, daughter of John Brown (called 'the Scotsman') and Esther Makepeace Brown on May 28, 1693, in Salem. Seth was born April 20, 1673, in Marlboro, [MA] Massachusetts. After his father's death Jeremiah and Deborarh moved to Connecticut where they lived during the French and Indian Wars. Their son Samuel was born on July 22, 1712, in Windham. Deborarh died in Windham on December 20, 1731, and Jeremiah died there on April 14, 1743, 'aged 99 years.' Additional Comments: Salem, Orleans County, Vermont, was annexed to Derby, Vt., in 1881.
