Abel CARPENTER, Quartermaster Sergeant.  Served with Detachment of Militia sent to
Derby From Caledonia County in July 1812.  Served in Corning's Detachment, Vt.
Militia.

Volunteered to go to Plattsburgh, [NY], September, 1814, and went as far as Bolton,
Vt., serving in Lieut. Phineas Kimball's Company, West Fairlee.  Ref: Vol. 49 Vt.
State Papers, Page 223; Book 52, AGO Pages 46 and 47.
