ELKINS CEMETERY*
In 1797 Captain Moses Elkins and his wife Ruth Leavensworth [1765-1825] arrived in
Potton from Craftsbury, Vermont. They settled a mile north of the
[Vermont/Quebec]border alongside the Missisquoi River. Captain Elkins is buried in
Johnson, Vermont and Ruth is buried in the Skinner Cemetery in Potton.
