"ROSTER OF VERMONTERS WHO SERVED IN THE CIVIL WAR", VOL. 2, 1998, P. 704.
William NELSON of Rutland, VT, enlisted Feb. 1865, served on the ship "Wachusett"
and was discharged on Feb. 8, 1868. He was either a volunteer Sailor or Marine.
