Perkins. The chimney was struck and some bricks knocked off; from there the lightning ran down the chimney through a stovepipe in the third story, knocking that down and shattering the plastering; ran through the floor into the room below knocking all the griddles off the stove and stunning Mr. Pratt, the tenant, and a baby of his, and then passed through the floor down into the cellar, shivering one of the floor boards. Neither Mr. Pratt or the baby were injured. The lightning also struck the Herald office, ran playfully along the gas pipes around the editorial heads and passed into the cellar without damage, merely as a warning of the punishment awaiting wicked editors who break the fish and game laws.
