Preston and daughter Rose returned Tuesday, after several days visit in Salem, N. Y. Rev. and Mrs. John Warren and son are spending several days with friends at Lake George, N. Y. Mr. and Mrs. William Holloway and two sons, Merle and Augustus, returned Monday night from Poughkeepsie, N. Y. Mrs. P. H. Hubbard left Tuesday for New York city, where she will spend several weeks with her daughter. The funeral of Miss Kate White was held at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at St.Mary's church. Rev. Fr. Kennedy officiated. The bearers were William, John and James Caneley of Leicester Junction and W. Canarey of Rutland. Burial was in Washington street cemetery. Miss Sophia Merrill left Wednesday for a visit with relatives in Schenevous, N. Y. Neil Sloane of New York city is visiting his mother of Liberty street. Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Hill and Mrs. Anna Maude Hazelton and daughter Thelma returned Tuesday night from a three days' trip to Woodstock. Francis Sullivan of Hudson Falls, N. Y., is assisting at the Delaware and Hudson station during the absence of Dana Hanks. Paul Bonville, who has been spending several days with his parents on West street, returned yesterday to Rutland where he has a position with the F. R. Patch Manufacturing company. Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Norton returned last night from a visit in Richmond and Burlington. Mrs. John Starr, who has been spending several weeks with her mother, Mrs. Bunney, will return today to her home in Norwich, Ct. John Squires of Troy, N. Y., was in town on business yesterday. Martin E. O'Brien returned Tuesday night from Schenectady, N. Y. Mr. and Mrs. Albin Atwood will return today to their home in Brattleboro. Mrs. C. E. Clark of Whitehall, N. Y., was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Fields Wednesday. Dr. A. F. McAllister will leave today for a three weeks trip to New York City and in western New York. Miss Alice Kennedy has taken a position at J. J. Foley's grocery store. Frank E. Richter was in Putnam, N. Y., yesterday. John Roberts, who has been spending two weeks in Schenectady and Troy, N. Y., returned Tuesday night. There will be a meeting of the C. C. Knight's Hose company in their rooms this evening. Albert Williams returned yesterday to Proctor. Miss Hazel Roshio went yesterday to Whitehall, N. Y., where she has a position. There will be a meeting of the Fair Haven council, No. 810, Knights of Columbus in their rooms this evening. Mrs. Isabel Howard of Albany, N. Y., is visiting her parents of West street. George Allen went yesterday to New York city on a business trip. Mr. and Mrs. Foster Hartwell, who have been the guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Thiaville of West street, returned yesterday to Troy, N. Y. John Hickey, who has been spending several weeks with his mother, went yesterday to Corinth, N. Y., where he has a position. Mr. and Mrs. William Holden will leave today for a two weeks' visit in New York city. Dr. and Mrs. J. F. Wilson returned yesterday after a 10 days' visit in Irvington, N. J. Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Williams and two children, Raymond and Doris, of Rutland, who have been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Bonville of West Street, have returned home.
