He was born here Oct. 27, 1900, son of John and Elizabeth (Owens) Morris. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Mary Teays of Pembrook Pine, Flo, and three nieces and four nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Durfee Funeral Home by the Rev. Russell Bales of the First Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Grove cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.m. Rutland Daily Herald Saturday morning January 30, 1971 Richard Morris Rites Fair Haven Funeral services for Richard Morris, 70, who died early Wednesday at Rutland Hospital, were held Friday afternoon at Durfee Funeral Home with the Rev. Russell Bales at the First Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery here, where the Fair Haven American Legion Post conducted military services. The flag was folded by Legionnaires Ralph Norton and John Vinici with Norton presenting the flag to the family. The bearers were Louis Faryniarz, Clement Levesque, William Sweeney and Edward Pushee and Harmon Wetherby, all of Fair Haven, and LeRoy Coburn of Hydeville.
