Rainville, The Adjutant General, 1998, Volume II. There are James SQUIRE and James SQUIRES who served in different units. James SQUIRES enlisted Nov. 26th 1775 and is listed in A Muster Roll of Captain Elijah Babcock's Company in Major Brown's Detachment now in the United Colonies Service, dated at Camp near Quebec, 12th day Feb. 1776. Captain Elijah Babcock engaged 26th Nov. 1775 on command at Montreal. page 653 --------- The Line-Additional Corps (Green Mountain Boys] under Colonel Ethan Allen: James SQUIRES, etc. page 833 --------- Additional Comments: I am searching for first name of ________Squire who married Joanna______ about 1790 probably in Windsor County, VT. They had a daughter Elizabeth born in 1793 in Windsor, Windsor, VT, and married Samuel Jenne who was also from the area. Joseph Squire's family moved to Cayuga Co. NY about 1800 where Mr Squire died before 1810.
