mustered into 9th Regt., Co. I. on July 9, 1862, was promoted Sergt.; Disch. Sept.
18, 1864, for promotion as Capt. Co. 
K. 28th U.S.C.T.

BLISS, ZENAS H., Calais, Vt.–Priv. Co. I., 9th Vt., June, '62; 5th Sergt. at
Chicago, Jan., '62; 4th Sergt., Yorktown, June '63; 3d Sergt., Newport Barracks,
N.C., Nov. '63; Aug. '64, passed Gen. Casey's board, and was commissioned Capt. of
Co. K, 28th U.S.C.T.; Must. at Poplar Grove Church, Sept., 18, and served with that
regiment until discharged Jan., '66, at Indianapolis, Ind.; present in action at
Winchester, Harper's Ferry, Suffolk, Va.; Newport Barracks, N.C., and capture of the
Twenty-Fifth Army Corps; on duty with Russel's brigade at Corpus Christi; Must. out
of the U.S. service at Louisville, Ky., Jan., '65.
