BARRE, VT. RELATIVES OF DEAD RECLUSE SOUGHT. The Barre authorities are trying to locate relatives of Charles W. Foster, an aged recluse, who died at the Barre City hospital Wednesday morning after a long illness. he was a veteran of the Civil war and had been a resident of Barre for nine years. His wife formerly lived in Burlington, but efforts to communicate with her have been unsuccessful. Mr. Foster was born in Wisconsin 75 years ago. He enlisted in his native state , serving four yeas in the war. Afterward he returned to Wisconsin and was married. About 10 years ago the family settled in Burlington. In 1905 Mr. Foster went to Barre with his daughter, Miss Elizabeth Foster, who enrolled as a student at Goddard seminary. her death in 1908, within one month of her graduation, was a stunning blow to the father, who soon afterward took up his life of a recluse and seldom mingled with his fellow men.
