(Brattleboro, Windham County, VT) DUMMERSTON --------- Mrs. H. C. Hazelton Dies Mrs. Ida (Ridley) Hazelton, 47, wife of Henry C. Hazelton, died in Brattleboro Wendesday after an illness of several weeks. She had not been well all winter. She was born in Nova Scotia, Jan. 15, 1877. She came to Dummerston eight or nine years ago to keep house for Beatty S. Balestier. She married Mr. Hazelton March 26, 1920, in Dummerston. She was a member of Evening Star Grange. Besides her husband Mrs. Hazelton leaves her mother, Mrs. Holt of Allentown, Pa; a brother, Ed Ridley of Allentown; a brother, Fred Ridley, and a half-sister, Miss Annie Little both of Boston. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the church and the burial will take place in the Dummerston cemetery. ******* MRS. J. AZRO AMIDON Death took Place in Williams Street Home This Morning Mrs. Rose (Plympton) Amidon, 68, wife of J. Azro Amidon, an assembler at the Estey organ plant, died of complications at 7:10 o'clock this morning in her home at 7 Williams street. She had been ill since Jan. 10. She was one of the four children of David Plympton and Harriet (Ladd) Plympton of Sturbridge, Mass., where she was born Aug. 5, 1855. The family lived in other Massachusetts towns, in Maine and at Spofford, N.H., during her childhood and young womanhood. She married Joseph Azro Amidon Jan. 19. 1875, and most of their married life has been spent in Brattleboro. She was not affiliated with any organization. Besides her husband Mrs. Amidon leaves Three daughter, Mrs. Lula Ingals of Brattleboro, Mrs. Nellie Wheeler of Rutland and Mrs. Reba Bolcurn of Brattleboro. 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves two ahlf-brothers and two half-sisters. They are: Harry Plympton of North Brookfield, Mass., Mrs. Nettie Burt of Keene,N.H., David Plympton of South Berwick, Me. and Mrs. Effie Keyes of West Warren, Mass. The funeral will be hald at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Mitchell's funeral home. Rev. Edwin P. Wood, pastor of All Souls church will afficiate and the burial will take place in Morningside cemetery. ****** JACKSONVILLE Frank Cross Dies in Colerain The many firnds of Frank Cross, 47, were saddened to hear of his sudden death at his home in Colerain, Mass., Friday, Jan 25. Mr. Cross lived in Jacksonville about 15 years and drove the Jacksonville0Brattleboro and JacksonvilleColerain stage many years. He was representative from this town a few years ago. About six weeks ago, while working in the woods, he was injured by a log rolling onto his leg and death was caused by a clot of blood goint to his heart after he apparently had recovered. Mr. Cross was born in Cummington, Mass., June 16, 1876, a son of Henry and Alice Cross. He attended schools in Cummington and Worthington. He married Miss Mattie Tinker and they had four children, Mrs. Thomas Holland of Dover, Leroy, Alton and Dorothy Cross of Colerain. The sons expect to carry on the farm for their mother. Besides his wife and children, Mr. Cross leaves a brother and sister, Warren Cross of Colerain and Mrs. Harry Howard of Cummington. Mr. Cross was a member of Alethian lodge of Odd Fellows, Shelburne Falls and Kacksonville order of Rebekahs ad Guilford Order of Mechanics.
