1924 obit-George Kenney-from my grandmother's scr Date: 98-04-10 07:34:18 EDT From: tess@sover.net (Terry Perham) from the Brattleboro Reformer FALLS DEAD IN DAUGHTER'S HOME --------------------------- George Kenney of Green River Succumbs to Heart Disease--Funeral in West Guilford Church Wednesday George Kenney, 69, who lived with his daughter, Lena, wife of Wilbur W. Burnett of Green River, fell dead from heart disease yesterday in the home of another daughter, Maud, wife of Lester Aldrich, in Green River. He led a cow from the Burnett place to the Aldrich place to be slaughtered and went into the house where he immediately fell dead on the floor. Dr. B. E. White of Brattleboro was called and said death was due to heart disease, with which Mr. Kenney had been afflicted for some time although he was in his usual health. Mr. Kenney was born in Hawley, Mass., Jan 29, 1855, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Erastus Kenney. He was a farmer. Aout 40 years ago he married Mary Whipple of Halifax, who died 17 years ago in Guilford. Mr. Kenney leaves two daughters, Lena, wife of Wilbur Burnett of Green River and Lilla, wife of Robert Burnett of Jacksonville, their husbands being brothers; a daughter, Maud, wife of Lester Aldrich; and two sone, Welcome Kenney, who lives in the West and Claude Kenney of Greenfield, Mass. He also leaves 16 grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 o'clock in the West Guilford church and the burial will take place in the Baker cemetery in Guilford. ************************************************************************Terry Perham Hinsdale, NH tess@sover.net
