HAYWOOD OF WALNUT STREET DIES Was Widow of Jerry Haywood and Was 92 years Old--Dies in Home Where She Was Married. Mrs. Mary (Brown) Haywood, 92, widow of Jerry Haywood, who was a well-known local carpenter, died at 6:15 o'clock this morning in the house at 29 Walnut street in which she was married and which had been her home since. She had been in failing health a long time and two weeks ago was taken seriously ill. Death resulted from acute heart trouble. She was the fifth of eight children of the late Alexander and Chloe (Sawtelle) Brown, five of whom were sons and three daughters, and was born in Brattleboro, Dec. 23, 1831 in the house on Canal street now occupied by Mrs. Jonathan Howe and which then stood near the Vinton paper mill. She attended the schools here, including the high school. On March 7, 1854, she married Jerry Evans Haywood, the ceremony being performed in the house at 29 Walnut street which Mr. Haywood just finished. Mr. Hawyood died Feb. 10, 1910. Mrs. Haywood united with the Centre Congregational church in 1858 and for many years she taught a Sunday school class. She leaves two sons, Walter L. Haywood, an inspector in the Packard Automobile factory in Detroit, Mich., and Henry S. Haywood who lived with his mother. She also leaves a grandson, George Leon Haywood, a dentist in Detroit, and a brother, Richard A. Brown of Halifax and Brattleboro. The funeral to which relatives, neighbors and intimate friends are invited, in accordance with the wishes of Mrs. Haywood, will be held at the home at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Rev. Dt. Herbert P.
