Spring Served Public With Horse-DrawnVehicle Over 20 years-- Used Motor Car Few Years Charles F. Spring, 78, formerly for about 35 years, a well-known coupe driver here, died at 5.45 o'clock yesterday afternoon in his home at 8 Highland street of senile debility after an illness of about six weeks. He was born in November, 1846, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Spring. He drove a horse-drawn coupe in Brattleboro over 30 years. In 1912 he bought a Ford touring car with which to replace his horse-drawn vehicle. He sold the business in August 1916, to Frank A Larrow, but remained in Mr. Larrow's employ for a time. Later he resumed business for himself, using his horse-drawn carriage. He gave up active work about four years ago. Mrs. Spring who was Miss Annie Nelley of New York, died Aug. 6, 1914. About three years ago Mr. and Mrs. Ernest M. Whitney moved to the Spring home to keep house for Mr. Spring. Mr. Spring leaves a half-sister, Mrs. Nelson Cooley of South Manchester, Conn. The funeral will be held at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon at Grove Terrace.
