STOCKWELL DIES AT AGE 84 Widow of Henry A. Stockwell of West Brattleboro was Postmistress There 13 Years. Mrs. Nancy Aiken Stockwell, 84, widow of Henry A. Stockwell, died at 11:40 o'clock last night in her home in West Brattleboro. She was confined to her ben less than two weeks, but had been in failing health for some time. Death resulted from a general breaking down due to her advanced age Mrs Stockwell was born in Grafton May 9, 1841, a daughter of Edward and Philinda (Styles) Aiken, and was the last of a family of three children. Her marriage to Henry A. Stockwell of West Brattleboro took place in 1860. Three children were born to them. Minnie E., who survives; a son, Charles, who died in 1911, ans a daughter who died in infancy. Mr. Stockwell died in 1920. Mrs. Stockwell was postmistress at West Brattleboro 13 years, when the ofice was located where the Melrose hospital now stands. The family moved about 28 years ago to their present home. Mrs. Stockwell possessed unusual keenness and wit, enjoyed good reading and was interested in topics of the day. She was a devoted mother, a kind neighbor and a good friend. Funeral services will be held Sunday evening at 7 o'clock in her late home, Rev. E.Q.S. Osgood officiating. Friends and neighbors are invited.
