LINDSEY DIES OF PNEUMONIA Was Widow of George W. Lindsey and Leaves Two Sons and Two Daughters-- Funeral Friday at 2. Mrs. Abbie (Gould) Lindsey, 70, widow of George W. Lindsey, who was a well-known painter here many years ago, died at 8.45 o'clock this morning in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herbert V. Longueil of the West Dummerston road, after an illness of eight days with pneumonia. She was born in Newfane Dec. 1, 1854, a daughter of John Gould and Sarah (Morse) Gould. She attended the schools of her native town and on April 20, 1876, married George W. Lindsey, who was then living in Newfane, and they came to Brattleboro to live. Mr. Lindsey conducted a painting and paper-hanging business until a few years before his death on Dec. 5, 1920, giving up his work to carry on his farm on the Black Mountain road. Mrs. Lindsey leaves two sons and two daughters. They are Charles A. Lindsey, who lives on South Main street and works for the Crosby Milling Co.; Minnie, wife of E.A. Jordan of Springfield, Mass.; Eleanor, wife of Herbert V. Longueil, with whom Mrs. Lindsey had lived since the death of her husband; and Edwin F. Lindsey, letter carrier in Brattleboro. There also are nine grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Ella Sargent of East Dummerston, and a brother, Charles E. Gould of Brattleboro.
