1921, 1922 deaths from my grandmother's scrapbook Date: 98-04-08 20:30:25 EDT From: tess@sover.net (Terry Perham) deaths, obituaries, and fillers, Brattleboro, Vermont area Nov.1921 WEST HALIFAX Mrs. Arvilla Copeland Mrs. Arvilla (Kilburn) Copeland died at her home here Friday where she had lived the past 14 years. Death resulted from a fractured hip which she sustained some weeks ago, when she fell. She had failed rapidly since that time. Mrs. Copeland was born in Wardsboro, August 26, 1833, a daughrter of Daniel and Clarisa Kilburn. She married Orvil Mason who died a few years after their marriage. She then married Orson H. Copeland, who committed suicide by hanging himself in the barn, in April 1920. She and Mr. Copeland spent nearly all of their married life in Marlboro and Halifax. She leaves one sister, Abbie Kilburn of Brattleboro. The funeral was held Sunday at one o'clock at the house, Rev. J.C. Lawrence officiating. The burial took place in the family lot in Wilmington. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Miss Abbie Kilburn of Brattleboro and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Copeland of Colerain, Mass. ------------------------------------------------------------- The weekly cottage prayer meeting will be held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Fish Friday evening at seven thirty. In Lowell, Mass., March 11, Mrs. Elizabeth Mansur, widow of Henry C. Mansur formerly of Brattleboro. In Guilford, Nov. 19, Worthy George Worden, 59. In Brattleboro, may 19, Mrs. Emma (Streeter) Eddy, 67, of Brattleboro, wife of Amasa T. Eddy. In Manchester, N.H., May__, Harry W. Bruce, 58, a native of West Dummerston. (May '22) The funeral of Henry W. Moore, who died Wednesday will be held in the Advent Chursh at 10 o'clok Sunday. The burial will take place in Williamsville. Mrs. Amasa T. Eddy (May 19, 1922) Emma (Streeter) Eddy, 67, wife of Amasa T. Eddy of 117 Main steeet, died yesterday afternoon at 4 o;clock. She had been in poor health for two years. The immediate cause of death was cancer of the stomach. Mrs. Emma Eddy, was born in Bellows Falls, May 10, 1855, a daughter of Hollis and Maria (Bigsbee) Streeter. She married Mr. Eddy Nov. 19, 1876. She had lived in Brattleboro since her marriage. Mrs. Eddy leaves one sister, Mrs. Frank Stoddard of Saxtons River, and two children, Dr. Walter H. Eddy of New York city and Mrs. R. M. Houghton of Brattleboro. She was a member of the Universalist church of Brattleboro.
