Editor of the Reformer-- Out of respect to the memory of the late Ossie Prouty, and in behalf of his grief-stricken wife and children, also in behalf of his mother, who is completely prostrated with grief and at the present writing is not able to sit up much of the time, it may not be out of place to say a few words, hoping that they may in some small measure bind up the broken hearts. Mr. Prouty was suddenly stricken down by the hand of violence, young in life, at a time when his family and friends need him much, leaving a wife young and tender in years with three small children dependent upon him for support. The awful tragedy has left its mark. The entire community stands aghast, and profound sympathy goes out to the sorrowing friends. Ossie, as we know him best, was possessed of many good qualities. He was bery kind hearted, always ready and willing to help in any time of need. He was a very industrious man, whose aim in life was to get an honest living for himself and family. He was caring for his mother at the time his father lost his life in a steam mill. In a different way in a few years have come two tragedies to the same family. But God knows all our sorrows and trials here so let us live in the hope that in the Beyond all the mysteries of life will be solved. N. H. SPENCER Halifax, Vt., Dec. 8 ******* Mrs. Charles E.
