HOME WEDDING CHRISTMAS DAY Miss Ethel Lawton Bride of Bernard Newell--Leave for Florida to Stay Through Winter A quiet wedding took place at 2 o'clock on Christmas day when Ethel Lawton and Bernard Newell were married in the home of the bride's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Barber, of High street, Rev. Charles C. Chayer of the Methodist church performing the ceremony. The decorations were of yellow chrysanthemums. Only the immediate members of the family were present. The bride wore a dress of poudre blue satin back crepe. Her traveling suit was of navy blue poiret twill. Mrs. Newell is a daughter of James R. Lawton of Ocaja, Fla., but has always lived with Mr. and Mrs. Barber. She graduated from the Brattleboro high school in the class of 1921 and the Y. W. C. A. school of Domestic Science of Boston in 1923. She has had positions as dietician in Middletown, Conn., and at Green Mountain camp.
