DUNN DIES Had Held Position with Boston & Maine and Central Vermont Railroads 40 yrs.--Funeral Friday Martin F. Dunn, 63, section foreman for the Boston & Maine railroads the past 40 years, and one of the town's hightly respected Irish citizens, died at 6 o'clock last evening in the Melrose hospital in West Brattleboro, of acute brights disease, following an operation last Thursday for appendicitis. Mr. Dunn was at his work until the day before he was operated upon. He was born in County Kilkenny, Ireland, June 21, 1863. His parents were Martin and Anna (Stacy) Dunn. When about 21 years of age he came to this country. He worked for a short time in Bellows Falls and in Charlestown, N.H., but his home had been in Brattleboro for 40 years. He owned the home at 14 Hudson street. He was twice married, his first wife being Mary Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Baker of Putney. Two children were born to them. Martin J. Dunn and Helen M., wife of William J. Barrett, both of this town. Mr. Barrett is employed by the telephone company. Mrs. Dunn died 27 years ago. On Sept. 25, 1899, he married Miss Nora Kennedy of Brattleboro, Rev. Patrick Cunningham performing the ceremony. Besides his wife, and two children, he leaves four brother, Michael Dunn of Chicopee, Mass., James Dunn of Troy, N.H. and Nicholas and Edward Dunn of Westminster. He also leaves one granddaughter, Barbara, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barrett. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Holy Name society. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 o'clock in St. Michael's Roman Catholic church.
