			MRS. REED OF DUMMERSTON DIES

Widow of Carl T. Reed Had Undergone Several Operations--Spent Early Life
			  in Green River

	Mrs. Hattie (Worden) Reed, 68, widow of Carl T. Reed of East
Dummerston, died at 3 o'clock this morning in the Memorial hospital,
where she underwent a serious operation a week ago.  Death resulted from
a canerous trouble, for which she had undergone several operations.

	Mrs. Reed was born in Green River Oct. 30, 1857, a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Allen Worden.  Her younger days were spent in her native town. 
When a young woman she went to East Dummerston to work, and it was there
that she married Mr. Reed about 45 years ago.  He was in the lumber
business many years.  He died five years ago.  No children were born to
Mr. and Mrs. Reed.

	She leaves no nearer relatives than nieces and nephews.

	Mrs. Reed was an  attendant at the Congregational church in East
Dummerston, but was not a member of any organization.

	The funeral arrangements have not been made.
