Puffer, Former Brattleboro Grocer--Funeral in Home Sunday at 2.30 Mrs. Euretta (Halladay) Puffer, 66, widow of Charles W. Puffer, died at 6.15 o'clock this morning in her home at 21 Frost street. She had been in ill health with brights disease several years and had been failing several months, for the past two weeks rapidly. Mrs. Puffer was born in Dummerston, Oct. 1, 1858, and was one of a family of five children of Obed and Louisa (Bradley) Halladay. When a small child she moved with the family to Guilford, where her younger days were spent. She had been a resident of Brattleboro many years. She was twice married, her first husband being the late Herbert Herrick of Brattleboro, whom she married about 42 years ago. One son was born of the marriage, Walter H. Herrick of Brattleboro, who had cared for his mother the past few years and had made his home with her. On Oct. 14, 1909, she married Mr. Puffer, who was in the grocery business on Elliot street several years. Mr. Puffer died in February 1923. She leaves besides her son, two brothers, Henry O. Halladay of West Brattleboro and Leslie C. Halladay of Brattleboro. A sister died when nine years old. Mrs. Puffer was a member of the Universalist church here. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock in her late home on Frost street. Rev. Edwin P. Wood, pastor of All Souls church, will officiate.
