Staring, aged 31 years. The deceased had been operated upon for cancer of the stomach, only surviving two days afterwards. The remains were laid at rest in Fairview Cemetery, Cheney, where the family had lived for many years. Deceased was a brother of Mrs. W. S. Eastman, of this city. Mrs. Peter Hamilton Mrs. T. H. Hallin on last Wednesday received a message informing her of the death of her mother, Mrs. Peter Hamilton, at the home of her son, M. J. Hamilton, 137 Sheffield avenue, Chicago, Tuesday evening, aged 74 years. She leaves three sons and three daughters, M. J., John and Dr. J. N. Hamilton, and Mrs. A. F. Carter of Chicago, and Mrs. Dr. J. C. Wright of Excelsior, Wis. Adams County News, July 10, 1901, issue DIED: Kalb-At Pendleton, Ore., July 2, 1901, Melvin Kalb, aged 29 years, of consumption. Deceased was a single man and formerly worked at carpentering here two years ago. He was a member of Ritzville camp No. 5595 Modern Woodmen of this city, carrying $1,000 insurance in favor of his mother, Mrs. Sophia Kalb. Adams County News, July 17, 1901, issue DIED: Philpott-Saturday evening, July 13, 1901, Mrs. D. E. Philpott of paraphrenites. Interment of the remains occurred Monday at Lind cemetery, Rev. T. H. Fertig, pastor of the M. E. church of this city, conducting the funeral ceremonies. Hutchinson Samuel Hutchinson, the stockman of the sinks sixty miles southwest of town has received the sad news of the death of his father, aged eighty years, at Baker City, Oregon, resulting from an accident in falling from a load of hay. Wm. Kuntz Wm. Kuntz, a German aged about 35 years, died last evening at the home of Fred Rosenoff. Last Monday he went there to work as a farm laborer and apparently in the best of health. His death was sudden and evidently caused by becomong over heated. Adams County News, July 31, 1901, issue DIED: Susan Dillon, aged 70 years. Silently as night was spreading her sable curtain o'er a busy world and throbbing nature sank to rest, kind friends, loving husband and children watched by the dying bed of Susan Dillon, wife of Abraham Dillon, and saw relentless death claim her for his own. She, who was the good Christian mother and faithful companion is today sleeping in the silent city of death and a rarely gifted soul has passed into the land of dreamless slumber. The deceased has lived here for thirteen years and was a victim of consumption. Besides the aged and sorrowing husband those who are left to mourn the loss of "mother" are two daughters, Mrs. John Bovee and Mrs. Frank Johnson, James and Irvin Dillon of this city and Grant Dillon of Richland Center, Wis. She had been a devoted Christian since girlhood and was always interested in church work. Her husband and family have the warmest sympathy of the community in this sad hour. Interment occurred at Spanjer cemetery this afternoon, a large concourse of people attending the funeral ceremonies. Adams County News, August 7, 1901, issue DIED: Hildred Haile, a tender bud of three summers, daughter of Walter and Alice Haile. Funeral was held from the Christian church August 2, 1901, when many kind friends extended sympathy to the bereaved parents. Interment was had in the Ritzville cemetery. WHITTLESEY - at Mission, Wash., Aug. 3, 1901, Mrs. Ella C. Whittlesey, of cancer. Mrs. R. B. Brice The Mrs. R. B. Brice whose sad death occurred in Tacoma, July 31, an account of which is given on first page, was formerly Miss Minnie Ruckle, cousin of Mrs. W. W. Zent of this city. Fourteen years ago the lady resided here for some time with her uncle, the late John B. Whittlesey. (NOTE: There were no other accounts of this death on the first page.) Adams County News, August 21, 1901, issue IN MEMORIAM: Isham M. Irby, a noble son of Isham and Ann Irby, died suddenly August 17, 1901, aged 20 years. He was born near Aurora City, Mo., January 25, 1881. Martin had two infant brothers, three infant sisters and a Christian mother, to meet him on the other side. Five brothers, two sisters and his father survive him. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Episcopal Church in Ritzville on Sunday afternoon, August 18, by the pastor, and the decedent's loved remains were laid to rest in the Ritzville Cemetery. Our lamented brother was brought up under noble Christian influences. Upon being born into the Kingdom he was baptized and joined the First Baptist Church of Aurora City in 1894. Martin's life was one of genuine purity, patience, love and temperance. As a pupil of Aurora High School his work was always thorough. He came to this state a little over a year ago and engaged in the drilling business. He was industrious and economical and apparently had a bright future. He loved his Saviour and delighted in the services of the house of God. Harrin John Harrin of Cheney, who came here Monday morning to work on a threshing machine near town, received a telegram yesterday informing him of the sudden death of his wife. When Mr. Harrin left Cheney on Sunday evening his wife was apparently in the best of health. Mrs. Harrin was a sister of Charles Odel, who works in the mill here. Adams County News, September 4, 1901, issue Fred Heinze Fred Heinze, an aged German farmer who had resided north of town near Griffith for 17 years, was found dead in his wheat field last Sunday, he having succumbed to heart trouble, from which disease he had suffered for some years. A wife in Germany and a son here survive him. He leaves considerable property, both real and personal. Adams County News, September 11, 1901, issue DIED: September 4, 1901, after a short illness, Wright Rushing, living on a farm six miles west of Cheney, of cholera morbus. He was 68 years of age and leaves a widow and six children most of whom live in that vicinity. Among them are Mrs. Virgil Graham, Mrs. Albert and Mrs. Sanders of Garfield, and Rev. Gentry Rushing of this city.
