Mrs. Drake's daughters include Mrs. Ruth Leonard and Mrs. Verna Heimbigner, both of Ritzville. Complete obituary will be published next week. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, January 11, 1951 Drake Funeral Held Wednesday Funeral services for Lillian Irene Drake, who died in the Ritzville General hospital Dec. 29, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Honeycutt Funeral Home in Ellensburg. Surviving are four daughters, Isabel Owens, Geraldine, Mont.; Mrs. Ruth Leonard and Mrs. Verna Heimbigner, Ritzville; and Mrs. Esther Hirschi, Seattle; also three sons, Alphus Nobel, Norris Nobel and Fred C. Drake, Ellensburg. Other survivors include a brother, Church Shelton, Ellensburg; a sister, Mrs. Charles Kee, Spokane; a stepson, Walter Drake, Ellensburg; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Drake was a member of the Rebekah lodge and Baptist church. Burial was in the Ellensburg cemetery. Funeral Is Held for Mrs. Roisom HATTON - Mrs. Roger L. Roisom, the former Elva Mary Robberson, was killed in a headon automobile collision near Wallula on the evening of Dec. 23, according to word received from Wallula recently. She and her husband were on their way to Walla Walla from their home in Portland to spend Christmas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Robberson, when the crash occurred. Mr. Roisom was taken to the Pasco hospital where he is still undergoing treatment for serious injuries. Funeral services were held at the Marshall funeral home in Walla Walla Dec. 27. Mrs. Roisom was born in Hatton on Feb. 13, 1914, and moved to Walla Walla when she was a year old. She was educated in Walla Walla public schools and graduated from Wa-Hi in 1928. She attended business college there and in 1942 she and her husband moved to Portland where she was office manager for the Canada Life Insurance company. Besides her husband and her parents, Mrs. Roisom is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Robert J. (Arlene) Hodgson, Walla Walla, Miss Muriel Robberson, San Francisco, and Mrs. Merwin (Jean)Green of Portland; and two brothers, Clayton B. and Gordon E. Robberson, Seattle. Mrs. Roisom was a member of the Methodist church. Funeral Services Conducted for Mrs. Precht LIND - Funeral services for Marie Precht, who died at Omak recently at the age of 39, were held at the Precht funeral home in Omak Monday and in the Lind Methodist church Tuesday. The Rev. Roland Wittrock officiated. Burial was in the family plot in the Lind cemetery. Mrs. Precht was born at Ruff on July 6, 1911. She was received into Holy Baptism July 6, 1923, and in the spring of 1941 was confirmed into membership in the Lutheran church at Lind. She was married to Henry F. Precht Oct. 17, 1940, at Ritzville. The couple lived in Lind where they operated a funeral home until January, 1945, when they moved to Omak to take over another funeral home. Mrs. Precht had received her elementary education in a rural school near Ruff and her high school education at Odessa, where she was graduated in 1929. She was graduated from the Deaconess School of Nursing in Spokane in 1936 and was a member of the Washington State Nursing association. Survivors are her husband, Henry F. Precht; a son, Henry A. Precht; two daughters, Beverly Joan and Mary Ann; her father, Andrew Jantz, of Ritzville; and three sisters, Mrs. Don Robinson of West Glacier, Mont., Mrs. Evelyn Claasson of Marlin, and Miss Malinda Jantz, Ephrata. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, January 18, 1951 Funeral Held In Washtucna for Mrs. MacMillan WASHTUCNA - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Caroline MacMillan, 83, were Saturday at the Washtucna Community church with the Rev. A. K. Walborn officiating. Mrs. MacMillan, who had been bedridden for over 30 years, died Thursday in Colfax where she spent the past seven months with a niece, Mrs. Lake Lyons. A heart condition was the immediate cause of death. Mary Catherine MacMillan was born in Falls City, Ore., April 2, 1867. She came to Washington as a young girl and lived in Walla Walla for several years before moving to Washtucna. She was married to John MacMillan in February, 1904, at Ritzville, and they lived in Washtucna until several months before her husband's death when they were both patients at the Sprague hospital. Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Amelia Lloyd, Portland, Ore.; a brother, George Whitall, Marysville; two nieces, Mrs. Lyons, Colfax, and Mrs. Grace Wriggle, Portland, and a nephew, Robert Whitall, Marysville. Mrs. MacMillan was a member of the Episcopal church in Walla Walla. Graber Funeral Is Held Tuesday Funeral services for Adolph John Graber, Odessa, who died Friday in Spokane, were held Tuesday in the Danekas and Duncan chapel. The Rev. A. O. Olson, the Rev. Martin Gering and the Rev. C. R. Hollensworth officiated. Burial followed at the Menno cemetery. Mr. Graber had been a farmer in the Odessa area for 45 years. He was 66 years old. He is survived by his wife, Rose; five daughters, Mrs. Charles Rist, Wenatchee; Mrs. Roy Self, Spokane; Mrs. Kenneth Hamilton, Seattle; Mrs. Walter Griffin, Madras, Ore.; and Mrs. Norman Schillinger, Cheney. He also leaves three sons, Jess of Ritzville and William and Eugene, both of Sprague. Mrs. Cottingham Dies In Sprague Funeral services for 76-year-old Luella Florence Cottingham, who died in the Sprague hospital on Jan. 10, were at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Danekas and Duncan funeral home. The Rev. Alfred Carter officiated. Mrs. Cottingham is survived by one son, Harry Cottingham, Hatton; a brother, John Daugherty, Carthage, Mo.; one grandchild and two great- grandchildren. Born in Carthage, Mo., Mrs. Cottingham had lived in the Ritzville district for 51 years. She was a member of the Christian church. Burial was in the Ritzville cemetery. Minnick, formerly a farmer near Hatton, died Jan. 8, at the age of 72 in the Bay Shore sanitarium at Hermosa Beach, Calif. Graveside funeral services were conducted Jan. 10 at the Bellevue cemetery in Ontario. Survivors include his widow, a sister, Mrs. N. B. Abrams of Monrovia; a brother, Herman of Hanford, and two nieces and a newphew. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, February 8, 1951 Funeral Service Conducted For "Bert" Thompson Funeral services for William Buird (Bert) Thompson, who died Feb. 1 at the age of 76, were held Saturday afternoon in the chapel of the Danekas and Duncan funeral home. The Rev. Alfred Carter officiated. Burial was in Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Survivors include the widow, Mabel; four daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Baxter of Entiat, Mrs. Viola Bierman of Ritzville, Mrs. Edna West of Port Orchard, and Mrs. Mildred Boner of Kirkland, a son, Francis Thompson of Ritzville, and a sister, Mrs. Agnes Tuft of Missoula, Mont. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, February 16, 1951 Funeral Set For Albert Rinker, 82 LIND - Albert Sherman Rinker of Lind died Tuesday in the Sprague hospital at the age of 82. Funeral services will be at the Lind Methodist church at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. W. H. Richey officiating. Burial will be in the Lind cemetery with Danekas and Duncan funeral home in charge. Mr. Rinker is survived by four daughters, MRrs. Myrtle Raymer of Sedro Wooley, Mrs. Alma Haslwanter of Kalispell, Mont., Mrs. Vivian Compton of Lind and Mrs. Irene McCully of California. Also surviving are five sons, Bert and Otis of Lind, Rolla of Spokane, Ira of Walla Walla and Leonard of Pasco. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, February 22, 1951 Michael Meyer Funeral Rites Conducted Here Funeral services for Michael Meyer, who died Feb. 14, at the age of 53 in Sunnyside were held Saturday at the Danekas and Duncan chapel with the Rev. Alec Rehn officiating.. Burial was in Ritzille Memorial cemetery. Mr. Meyer was born and raised in Ritzville and had made his home here. Two sisters who survive him are Mrs. Kate Starring and Mrs. J. H. Harris of Ritzville. Also surviving are two brothers, George of Coulee City and Benjamin of California. Funeral Is Held For Con Lesser Funeral services for 73-year-old Conrad Lesser were held Tuesday at the Philadelphia Congregational church with the Rev. R. Kirschenmann officiating. Mr. Lesser died Feb. 17 in Spokane. He had been a resident of Ritzville for 31 years. Surviving are his wife, Mary and four daughters, Mrs. Amelia Hose of Harrington, Mrs. Frieda Wolfe of Seattle, Mrs. Pauline Rehn of Ritzville and Mrs. Delores Kilgore of Manfield, Ohio. Also surviving are three sons, Fred of Tacoma, Conrad of Ritzville, and Harold of Ephrata; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Burial was in Ritzville Memorial cemetery with Danekas and Duncan funeral home in charge. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, March 1, 1951 Robert White Killed In Accident Robert White, well-known Big Bend dairy rancher and a prominent Flying Farmer, was killed instantly in a tractor accident at his ranch about noon Tuesday. Dr. W. H. Sweet of Ritzville, who was called to the White farm in the Crab Creek area, told the Journal-Times, White apparently was using his wheel-type tractor to haul timbers needed for repairing a wooden bridge when the tragedy occurred. Dr. Sweet said the tractor apparently rolled on its side into a sluiceway, part of White's irrigation system, and tipped over. White fell beneath the tractor, according to Dr. Sweet, and was killed instantly with a broken neck. The doctor said White's wife, Anna, discovered the accident when the ranched failed to return home for lunch and she drove to where he was working about a quarter mile from the ranch house. Mrs. Henry Rehn apparently was the first person in Ritzville to learn of the accident. She received a phone call from one of White's daughters, Vivian, who was attempting to contact his other daughter, Evelyn, a receptionist in Dr. Sweet's office. Eveyln is engaged to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rehn. White would have been 47 years old his March 16. He operated a dairy farm in the Crab Creek area. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, March 8, 1951 Youth Killed As Car Leaves Road South Of Lind LIND - Jerry V. McCall, 16-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy McCall, was killed about Sunday noon when the car he was driving left the highway between Lind and Kahlotus and plunged down a 110-foot embankment. McCall's companion, Dean Blair, the 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Blair, was seriously injured. He was able to make his way about half a mile to a farm where he summoned aid before collapsing. Both the McCalls and Blairs are well known wheat ranchers in the Lind area. McCall was an outstanding sophomore athlete at Kahlotus high school. Blair, a former Lind student, was a freshman at Kahlotus. The two boys were cousins. Funerals Held Here For White, Chris Rieker Funeral services for two prominent residents of the Ritzville area - Flying Farmer Robert White and pioneer car dealer Chris Rieker- were conducted here earlier this week. The two men, both widely known throughout the state, died within four days of each other. White was killed that Thursday in a tractor accident on his Crab Creek dairy farm. Rieker died Sunday in the Ritzville General hospital. Four airplanes piloted by Flying Farmers from Okanogan and Omak flew overhead during graveside services Monday afternoon at Ritzville Memorial cemetery as White, secretary of the state Flying Farmers association, was buried. Funeral rites had been conducted at Danekas and Duncan funeral home for the 45-year-old aviation enthusiast, with the Rev. Alfred Carter officiating. His survivors include the widow, Anna, two daughters, Evelyn and Vivienne, a son, Gilbert; a half-brother, Lloyd Milliken of Seattle; his mother, Mrs. Ed Stuller of Standwood; and his foster mother, Mrs. Alvina Wolfe. Rieker Longtime Dealer Chris Rieker was regarded as one of the oldes automobile dealers in the Pacific Northwest from the standpoint of years of service when he retired from active business last December after 39 years. He died Sunday at the age of 67. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Philadelphia Congregational church with the Rev. R. Kirschenmann officiating. Burial was in Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, March 15, 1951 Funeral Is Held For James Conner LIND - Funeral services for James Martin Conner were held at the Catholic church in Ritzville at 10 a.m. Monday morning, March 12, and Rosary at the funeral home in Ritzville at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Conner had lived in the Lind community since 1900. He passed away at the Ritzville General hospital on Wednesday, March 7, at the age of 86. Burial was at the Lind cemetery. James Martin Conner was born Nov. 7, 1865, in Columbus, Ohio. He farmed in the Lind community before moving to town. Survivors are his widow, Emily; one daughter, Mrs. Nicholas Sievers, one son, W. L. Conner, all of Lind; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Miss Irene Conner of Columbus, Ohio; and Mrs. Mattie Sugden of Dayton, Ohio; one brother, J. P. conner of San Juan, Texas; two stepsons, J. W. Wheeler of Seattle and Henry Wheeler of Los Angeles, Calif. Roth, Former Lind Farmer, Dies Monday John Roth of Spokane, a former Lind farmer, died March 12. Mr. Roth is survived by his wife, Lydia, at the Spokane home, two daughters, Mrs. Edna Robar of Spokane and Mrs. Betty Schafer of Ritzville; two sons, Leonard Roth of Lind and William Roth of Seattle; four grandchildren; two brothers, G. Roth of Idaho, and Henry Roth of Olympia; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Maier of Spokane, Christine Roth of American Falls, Idaho, and Mrs. Dan Dauser of Mott, ND; several neices and nephews. He was a member of the Lutheran church. Bierman Funeral Held Saturday William A. Bierman died on Wednesday, March 7, at the Ritzville General hospital, and funeral services were held at the Danekas and Duncan chapel Saturday. The Rev. F. J. Ahrendt officiated and burial was in the Lutheran cemetery. Mr. Bierman was born 61 years ago in Ritzville. He was a member of the Ritzville IOOF and the Lutheran church. Surviving him are one son, Everett of Ritzville; five sisters, Mrs. Ardel Dryden of Ellensburg, Mrs. Lena Miller of Portland, Mrs. Ed Surfus of Eugene, Ore., Mrs. Elsie Smith of Salem, Ore., and Mrs. Mabel Sehman of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, R.
