The Rev. F. J. Ahrendt officiated. Born in 1869 in Ohio, Mrs. Klingel came to Ritzville in 1905. Her husband managed the Ritzville Trading company dry good department for 25 years until his death in 1942. After his death Mrs. Klingel lived with her daughter, Marie Haupt in Walla Walla. She died in 1949. From that time until her death, Mrs. Klingel lived with her son, Brandt, in Spokane. Burial was in the Ritzville memorial cemetery. Besides her son, survivors include four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, April 12, 1951 Funeral Services Conducted for Mrs. Fitz, 58 LIND - Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, April 11, at the Lind Zion Congregational church for Mrs. Mathilda Fitz, 58, who died at the Riverside Sanitarium, Spokane, Sunday, April 8. The Rev. Edward Schmidt officiated at the services and interment was made in the Lind cemetery. Mathilda Jeske Fitz, daughter of Jacob and Dorthea Gunther Jeske, was born Nov. 27, 1892, in Fere-Champanoise II, Bessarabia, Russia, where she was baptized. As a 9-year-old girl she came to America with her parents who settled in Odessa in 1901. Here she received her religious instructions in the Pilgrim church being confirmed by the Rev. J. J. Hoffman. On Jan. 30, 1911, she was married to Daniel Fitz. The couple made their home on a farm about four miles northwest of Lind. They had two children, Maria Ida and Emil. Her mother passed away in March, 1915, her husband on April 29, 1935, and her stepmother on April 21, 1950. Mrs. Fitz lived in the town of Lind since 1945. Her son, Emil, was staying with her. Early Sunday morning, Feb. 18, she suffered a stroke. She was placed in the Ritzville hospital and suffered a second stroke on Feb. 21. On Feb. 22 she was rushed to St. Luke's hospital at Spokane. She remained there for three weeks when she showed signs of improving. On March 15 she was transferred to the Riverdale Sanitarium. On Friday, April 4, at 2:15 a.m. a third stroke made her condition worse and she passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 8, at 7:05 a.m. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Henry Orman and a son, Emil, both of Lind; one granddaughter, Helen Orman, one sister, Mrs. August Giese of Odessa, two brothers, Dan Jeske of Cashmere and Henry Jeske of Peshastin. Mrs. Fitz had been a member of the Zion Congregational church for 40 years. Danekas and Duncan funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, April 19, 1951 Funeral Service Conducted for Mrs. Colwell Funeral services for Jessie Flora Colwell, who died at her home in Ritzville Saturday were held Tuesday at the Danekas and Duncan chapel. The Rev. Alfred Carter officiated. Burial was in the Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Born in Milton, Ore., Mrs. Colwell lived most of her 62 years in the Ritzville area. She is survived by her husband, Lee, and one son, Kenneth of Ritzville, and two sisters, Mrs. Elzora Johnson of Gardiner, Mont., and Mrs. Lou Angell of Corman, Mont. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, April 26, 1951 Funeral Set For Mrs. Marie Boos Funeral services for 78-year-old Marie Christina Boos, who died Monday at Ritzville General hospital will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Lutheran church with the Rev. F. J. Ahrendt officiating. Mrs. Boos had lived in Ritzville for 40 years and was a member of the Lutheran church and the Lutheran Ladies Aid. Burial will be in the Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Herman Griffith of Washtucna; four sons, Dave and Henry of Ritzville, Fred of Fresno, Calif., and Mike of Fort Morgan, Colo., 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, May 3, 1951 Bechdolt Funeral Will Be Saturday Funeral serices for 57-year-old Margaret Bechdolt, who died Sunday at her home in Aberdeen, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Danekas and Duncan chapel. The Rev. F. J. Ahrendt will officiate. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery. Surviving her are five brothers, Otto, August and Bruno Sielaff of Ritzville, and Max and Ernest Sielaff of Burns, Ore.; and one sister, Minnie Sielaff of Lind. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, May 10, 1951 "Mother" Reynolds is Dead After Long Othello Life Funeral services for Mrs. J. W. Reynolds (Florence H. Wingate) were held in Othello Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock with the Rev. Fitzsimmons of Othello officiating. Burial was in the Ritzville Memorial cemetery by the side of her husband. Danekas and Duncan funeral home was in charge of arrangements. "Mother" Reynolds, as she was called by all who knew her, was born Nov. 28, 1861, in Iowa, where she lived until after her marriage. Coming west for her husband's health, they settled first in Ritzville, later moving to a homestead near Lind. From there they moved to Othello where she had lived for the past 43 years. Mrs. Reynolds was ill in the Ritzville General hospital for several months before passing away Saturday morning about 7:30. She was 89 years, five months and seven days old. She is survived by two sons, Loren W., of Othello, and J. Strother of Olympia; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Another son, Rex, preceded her in death. Derr, Ritzville baker, died at his home Wednesdsay night. Funeral arrangements had not been completed. He was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran church. Survivors include his wife, Hilda, and son, Lorain, at the home, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Derr, jr., of Odessa; two brothers, Lorwerth Derr of Van Nuys, Calif., and Lt. Arthur Derr stationed with the air corps in the east; and three sisters, Mrs. Erma Kissler, Mrs. Carolyn Himmerling and Mrs. Ruth Suchland of Odessa. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, May 31, 1951 Alvon L. Derr Funeral Monday Funeral services for Alvon L. Derr, who died Wednesday at his home in Ritzville, were held Monday from the Emanuel Lutheran church. The Rev. Roland O. Wittrock of Lind officiated. Derr operated the Ritzville Electric Bakery and had been a baker in Odessa. He was born May 9, 1912, on a ranch southeast of Odessa owned by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Derr, jr. After his marriage to Miss Hilda Wagner of Ritzville, he was a grocer in Spokane. He was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran church. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Hilda, and son, Lorain at the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Derr, jr., of Odessa; two brothers, Lorwerth Derr of Van Nuys, Calif., and Lt. Arthur Derr with the air force in Memphis, Tenn. Other survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Erma Kissler, Mrs. Carolyn Himmerling and Mrs. Ruth Suchland of Odessa. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schneider, Mr. Derr's aunt and uncle from Loveland, Colo.; and Harold H. Wagner, Mrs. Derr's brother of Albany, Ore., attended the funeral. Mrs. Glenn dies Wednesday At 87 Mrs. Alice Belle Glenn died Wednesday at her home in Washtucna at the age of 87 years. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, from the Washtucna Community church. The Rev. A. K. Walborn will officiate. Burial will be in the Washtucna cemetery with the Danekas and Duncan funeral home in charge. Mrs. Glenn had lived in the Washtucna community for 65 years. She was a member of the Christian church, the Order of Eastern Star at Lind and the Rebekah lodge of Portland, Ore. Surviving her are four daughters, Mrs. Iva B. Legore of Spokane, Mrs. Laura Mae Reichensperger of Wapato, Mrs. Ardelia Willis of Wilamina, Ore., and Mrs. Hattie A. Crossord of Washtucna. Other survivors are three sons, Charles H. Glenn of Ritzville, Earl Glenn of Post Falls, Idaho, and Theodore Glenn of Palmer, Alaska; and 22 grandchildren. Booker Funeral Held In Othello OTHELLO - Funeral services for Thomas Randalph Booker, sr., 80 years old, were held Monday afternoon at the Othello Christian church. The Rev. Don Fitzsimmons officiated. Burial was in the Lind cemetery. Mr. Booker moved from Cathage, Mo., to homestead in the Big Bend area in 1901. In 1944 he moved to Kittitas to live with his sister, Mrs. Jennie Jeans. He as a member of the Othello Christian church. Survivors include his wife, Mollie of Seattle; three daughters, Fay Morris of Brewster, Mrs. Virginia Caka and Mrs. Sylvia Jerbert of Seattle; three sons, Thomas R. Booker, jr., and Paul Booker of Cunningham, and W. E. Booker of Kittitas; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Jeans and Miss Betty Booker of Carthage, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two daughters, Marie and Edna preceded him in death. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, June 7, 1951 Last Rites For Sam Schafer Funeral services for Samuel Schafer, long-time resident of Ritzville who died shortly after noon Monday, were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the Zion Congregational church. Officiating was the Rev. Alec Rehn. Burial was scheduled for Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Born on Aug. 10, 1889, in Bickleton, Wash., Schafer was one year old when his family moved to the Ritzville area. He had lived in this vicinity ever since - for about 60 years. He was 61 when he died. Mr. Schafer was a 25-year member of the Oddfellows lodge here. He also was a member of the Zion Congregational church. His son, Ralph, is farming the family place west of town. Other survivors include the widow, Mary, at the home; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Wynia and Miss Hazel Schafer, both of Bakersfield, Calif.; a half-brother, C. J. Oestreich of Ritzville and four grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mrs. Glenn Held Saturday WASHTUCNA - Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Belle Glenn, Washtucna, were held Saturday afternoon at the Washtucn Community church with the Rev. A. K. Walborn officiating. Mrs. Glenn, who died May 30, would have been 88 years old had she lived until June 8. Burial was in the Washtucna cemetery. Emerald Rebekah lodge assisted the Rev. Walborn with the committal rites. Alice Belle Morgan was born in Marange, Ind., June 8, 1863. On Christmas day of 1881 she was married to Samuel L. Glenn who died on Nov. 2, 1921. The couple took up a homestead near Washtucna 64 years ago. Mrs. Glenn made her home for the past 7 years in Washtucna with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Crofford. Of Mrs. Glenn's eleven children, four preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons, Charles of Ritzville, Earl of Post Falls, Idaho, and Theodore (Ted) of Palmer, Alaska; four daughters, Mrs. Ardella Williams, Willamina, Orel, Mrs. Iva Legore, Spokane; Mrs. Laura Reichensperger, Wapato, and Mrs. Crofford, and 23 grandchildren. Survivors also include three brothers, Millard Morgan, Cheney, and Arthur and Luther Morgan, both of Seattle. Mrs. Glenn was a member of the Christian church, the Order of Eastern Star at Lind and the Rebekah lodge at Portland, Ore. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, June 21, 1951 Funeral Services Held For Thaut Funeral services for Jacob Thaut, who died Saturday in a Spokane hospital were held on Tuesday from the Danekas and Duncan chapel. The Rev. F. J. Ahrendt officiated. Burial was in the Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Mr. Thaut, who was 39 years old, had lived in Spokane for the past eight years and was born and raised in the Ritzville area. He was a member of the Zion Congregational church. Survivors include one son, Gerald, of Ritzville; three sisters, Mrs. Alec Stamm of Milwaukee, Wisc., Mrs. Alvin Wagner and Mrs. Omar Haight of Ritzville.
