Mrs. Dugger died Thursday at a nursing home in Yakima. She had been there since 1953. Rev. R. W. Rieger officated at the services. Interment was at the Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers were Art Roloff, Leonard Jansen, W. Walters Miller, Fred Kramer, Calvin Tuck and William Lindsay. Mrs. Dugger was born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ryder in Illinois on Dec. 31, 1867. She was married to John Dugger on June 28, 1885, in Illinois. Mr. Dugger preceded her in death in August, 1951, in Ritzville. The couple had lived in Adams county since March, 1889. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Dollie Triebwasser and Mrs. Carrie Fruehling, both of Portland, Ore., and Alfred Dugger of Ritzville; 18 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Five of Mrs. Dugger's children preceded her in death. Mrs. Della Lightel Passes Monday at Hillcrest Manor Mrs. Della B. Lightel, 85, died Monday at Hillcrest Manor rest home of a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Waln of Trinity Methodist church officiating. Interment was at Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers were Lyman Haight, Alex Miller, Larry Maher, Joe Schafer, Paul Geschke and Ed Tesch. Mrs. Lightel was born in Ohio on March 3, 1876. She married Bert Lightel. A resident of Adams county for 38 years, Mrs. Lightel was a member of the Methodist church and the Rebekah lodge. Surviving are two grandchildren, Mrs. Sally Gust and Richard Lightel, both of Ritzville. Death Takes Mrs. Withers Mrs. Hannah Withers of Ritzville passed away Friday, Oct. 6, at the age of 83. Funeral services were held at Smith's Funeral Home in Spokane Monday. Mrs. Withers moved from Montana with her husband and family to Spokane in 1903. Her husband, Fred A. Withers, preceded her in death in 1947. In 1953 she and her daughter moved to Ritzville. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses. Surviving are a son, James J. Withers of Spokane; a daughter, Mary J. Withers of Ritzville; and a sister, Mrs. Jane Schwan, of Salt Lake City, Utah. Services Held for Heimbigner Here Saturday Funeral services for Orvil Martin Heimbigner, 46, Ritzville farmer, were held Saturday at the Philadelphia Congregational church. Heimbigner, who lived at 607 S. Washington and was farming seven miles northwest of Ritzville, died of a coronary occlusion at Sacred Heart hospital in Spokane Wednesday, Oct. 4. He had been in the hospital about a day and a half for minor surgery. Rev. Herbert C. Haemmelmann officiated at the services. Interment was at Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers were Edwin Roloff, Arthur Roloff, Harry Arlt, George J. Ills, Otto Amen and Laurin Heimbigner. Heimbigner was born to Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Heimbigner on April 29, 1915, at Packard. He attended Dryden grade school and high school, where he was graduated in 1932. He married Hanna Lenhart on Dec. 17, 1939, at Dryden. He had lived at Packard five years, Dryden 18 years, Coulee Dam two years and Portland, Ore., four years before moving back to the Ritzville area 17 years ago. The family moved to Ritzville five years ago. Heimbigner was a member of the Philadelphia Congregational church. He was interested in all kinds of sports, especially basketball and bowling. Surviving are his parents and wife at the home in Ritzville; a son, Leland, a student at Washington State university; daughter, Barbara, at the home; three sisters, Mrs. Don Gilliam of Twisp, Mrs. Carl Benzel of Harrington and Mrs. Emil Miller of Dryden; and four brothers, Alvin E. of Bellevue, Joel H. of Touchet and Jonah and Elmer, both of Ritzville. Henry Schrag Services Held Wednesday Funeral services for Henry J. Schafer, a Soap Lake chiropractor who grew up in the Ritzville area, were held Wednesday at the Menno Mennonite church. Schrag, 67, died Sunday at Hillcrest Manor rest home, where he had been living since the home opened last year. The Rev. Lester Janzen and Henry Hoffman officiated at the services. Interment was at the Mennonite cemetery. Pallbearers were Arnold Schragg, Howard Link, Philip Schrag, Vernon Aeschliman, Walter Heimbigner and Victor Schrag. Schrag, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schrag, was born in Eugene, Ore., on June 2, 1894. He grew up on his parents' farm 18 miles west of Ritzville. He married Ella Henry. The couple moved to Soap Lake in the early 1930s where they lived until eight years ago. Schrag then lived in Ritzville for five years before going to a rest home in Spokane. He moved from Spokane when Hillcrest Manor opened. He was a member of the Ephrata Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are his wife at Soap Lake; a son, Harlan, at Soap Lake; a daughter, Mrs. Roberta Moffitt of Vandenburg air force base, Calif.; and a brother, Ewalt, of Monroe. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, October 19, 1961 None Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, October 26, 1961 Mrs. Stella Pratt Passes Friday CUNNINGHAM - Mr. and Mrs. Iver (Buck) Doughtery were called to Spokane Friday due to the death of Mrs. Daughtery's mother, Mrs. Stella M. Pratt. Mrs. Pratt, who had been a resident of Spokane for 39 years, had been ill for the past several weeks. Besides Mrs. Daughtery, she is survived by two sons, Donald Pratt of Spokane and George Pratt of Calgary; two sisters, 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at St. Francis of Assisi in Spokane and interment was made at Holy Cross cemetery. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, November 2, 1961 Funeral Set for Miss Kinch WASHTUCNA - Funeral services for Miss Amy Lou Kinch, 3, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rod Kinch, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Washtucna Community church. Miss Kinch died about 5 a.m. Wednesday of tracheal bronchitis at the Adams County Memorial hospital. Rev. William J. Woodworth will officiate at the services. Interment will be at the Washtucna cemetery. Grandparents are Mrs. Bessie Helme of Washtucna and Mr. and Mrs. William Allert of Benge. Besides her parents and grandparents, she is survived by two sisters, Glenna, 4, and Paula Joy, a year and a half; and a brother, Roddie, 8. Former Resident Dies While Hunting WASHTUCNA - Walter Ragsdill of Pasco, a former Washtucna resident, died of a heart attack while on a hunting trip, according to word received by Mrs. Verda Bisson. Ragsdill was a construction worker. He is survived by his wife, Thelma, at the home. Funeral services were held last week in Spokane. Burial was at Riverside Park. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, November 9, 1961 Hardt Funeral Slated Today at Quincy Funeral services for Melvin Hardt, 41, Quincy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hardt of Ritzville, will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Lutheran church in Quincy. Hardt, a 1938 graduate of Ritzville high school, was killed Monday afternoon when he was dragged feet first by sprocket wheels into a corn harvester on his farm 10 miles southwest of Quincy. He was alone. According to a report, Mrs. Hardt driving a truck in the harvest operation, found her husband tangled in the machine when she returned from hauling a load of corn to Quincy. She attempted to free his body but had to to for help. Hardt died from a loss of blood. It took volunteers more than two hours to dismantle the harvester enough to remove the body. Hardt grew up on the family farm west of Ritzville. He farmed with his father for awhile, then farmed in the Ruff area before moving to a Quincy irrigation block unit three years ago. He was a member of the Lutheran church. Surviving are his wife, Pearl, two sons and a daughter at the home; his parents; a brother, Forrest, of Ritzville and a sister, Mrs. Grace Griffith of Quincy. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, November 16, 1961 Former Resident Passes Recently at Spokane Home Funeral services for William R. Becker, 57, who passed away Oct. 22, were held recently at Hazen and Yaeger's Valley home with Rev. John Groschupt officiating. A lifelong Inland Empire resident, Becker died of a heart attack at his home in Spokane. He was a partner in the Becker-Stanton Fuel company. He was born and reared in Ritzville and had lived in the Spokane Valley about 18 years. He operated the Allied Realty company in Spokane. Surviving are his wife, Hannah, at the home; a daughter, Mrs. Neadda Baird; and two grandchildren at Wilbur; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Lesser of Moses Lake, Mrs. Hannah Becker of Medical Lake, Mrs. Anna Schafer of Spokane, and Lucille Becker of Seattle; his stepfather, Jacob Ils of Ritzville; and several stepsisters and stepbrothers. Burial was at the Pines in Opportunity. Pallbearers were his nephews, Louis Becker, Walter Becker, Virgil Becker, Allan Koch, Charles Miller and Clark Miller. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Keller, Pete Miller, Willis Barker, Dale Cox, Frant Stanton and Lester Phillips. Former Resident of Washtucna Dies at Prosser WASHTUCNA - Funeral services for Harold Easley, who passed away Tuesday at Prosser Memorial hospital, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Flint Funeral Home in Pasco. Burial was at the Prosser cemetery. He had been a resident of Prosser since 1954. He was a Horse Heaven farmer and was active in the Benton County Wheat Growers association and a member of other farm organizations. Easley was born in Gailsburg, Kan., in 1899 and was a veteran of World War II. He was a former resident of Washtucna, having received his education here. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; one daughter, Mrs. William Pearson, Prosser; one sister, Mrs. C. V. Bailiss, Long Beach, Calif., and two grandchildren. Mrs. Renner's Father Passes CUNNINGHAM - Mrs. Archie Renner received work Monday her father, Walter Webb, of Tahlequah, Okla., had passed away after a short illness. Besides Mrs. Renner, he is survived by two other daughters, two sons, 26 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, November 23, 1961 Lyman Proctor Dies Recently Lyman Proctor of Walla Walla, a former Ritzville resident, passed away Friday, Nov. 17, at the age of 61. He was born in Higgensville, Mo., and lived in Ritzville for many years. He was graduated from the Ritzville high school before moving to Walla Walla. He was active in the Oddfellows lodge and had been recording secretary of the lodge in Walla Walla for 10 years. He also was a member of the Methodist church, the Eagles lodge and the American Legion. In addition to his wife, Helen, he is survived by two sons, Tom of Walla Walla, and Gordon of Spokane; a daughter, Doris Proctor of Seattle and a brother, W. H. Proctor of Ritzville. Interment was in the Oddfellows cemetery in Walla Walla. Services Held for Miss Weise A graveside service was held at Ritzville Memorial cemetery Monday morning for Mary Jo Weise, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Weise, who was born Aug. 31. Mary Jo died Saturday at the Samaritan hospital in Moses Lake from complications after birth. Rev. Herbert Haemmelmann officiated at the services. Besides her parents and a brother at the home in Ritzville, she is survived by her grandparents, Mrs. Gerald Weise of Spokane, and Mr. and Mrs. Art Hirning of Ritzville. Funeral Held for Mrs. West WASHTUCNA - Mrs. Gladys Cameron West passed aways suddenly from a heart attack early Friday morning, Nov. 10, in Portland, Ore. Services were held at the Vernon United Presbyterian church with Rev. J. Arthur Stevenson officiating on Monday, Nov. 13. She leaves her husband, Charles M. West, two sons, Norman and James at home, one daughter, Janet, who all live in Portland and four grandchildren of Portland. Also surviving are three sisters, Bertha Allen, Long Beach, Calif., Kate Jordan, LaGrande, Ore., and Gracie Schaeffer, Portland, and one brother, Floyd Cameron of Washtucna. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, November 30, 1961 Services Held for Mrs. Leisle Here Tuesday Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Margarete Leisle, 79, a resident of the Ritzville area for 48 years, were held Tuesday at the Zion Congregational church. Mrs. Leisle died Saturday at Hillcrest Manor, where she and her husband, Michael, have been living since June. Mrs. Leisle suffered a stroke nine years ago and has been bedfast since. Rev. Alex Rehn officiated at the services in the absence of Rev. R. W. Rieger. Interment was at Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Bastron, Levein Schroeder, Fred Benzel, jr., Lawrence Benzel, Marvin Schoessler and Alex Werner. Mrs. Leisle was born to Mr. and Mrs. Casper Werner on Feb. 24, 1886, at Warenburg, Russia. She was married to Mr. Leisle on Dec. 26, 1905, at Warenburg. The couple left Russia in September, 1912, and came to Philadelphia, Pa., from there they went to Lincoln, Neb., where they stayed six months. They lived in Billings, Mont., for six months, then came to the Ritzville area, where they farmed until Mr. Leisle retired in 1930. The couple then moved to town. She had been a member of the Zion Congregational church for 35 years. Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Henry and Arthur of Ritzville and Aaron of Walla Walla; six daughters, Mrs. Donald (Mary) Lee of Yakima, Mrs. Peter (Lydia) Greenwalt and Mrs. Maudise (Alma) Ferderer, both of Ritzville, Mrs. Arthur (Mollie) Cline of Seattle and Mrs. Willard (Esther) Schneider and Mrs. Frank (Gloria) Gilliland, both of Spokane; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Leisle would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December. Danekas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Carr Service Set Today Funeral services for James H. Carr, 62, will be conducted at 10 this (Thursday) morning at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral Home. Carr died of a heart attack early Tuesday morning. He was born Aug. 31, 1899, in Fowler, Indiana, and came to the state of Washington in the early thirties. He came to Ritzville to work at the Journal-Times in 1946 and has made his home in and out of Ritzville since. One of eight children, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. P. S. McAllister and a nephew, Stuart McAllister, who reside in Oswego, Ore. The Rev. R. W. Rieger will officiate. Cremation will follow. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, December 7, 1961 Funeral Set for Mrs. Crouse at 10 Today WASHTUCNA - Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Ellen Crouse, a long-time resident of Washtucna who had lived in Sandpoint, Ida., for the last 10 years, will be held today (Thursday) at the Washtucna Community church. Mrs. Crouse, 63, died Sunday of a cerebral hemorrhage at the Adams County Memorial hospital. Rev. William J. Woodworth will officate at the funeral which begins at 10 a.m. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at the Olney cemetery at Pendleton, Ore. Pallbears will include Frank Schafer, Vernon Schafer, James Murphy, Floyd Cameron, Frank Brown and Al Sitko. Mrs. Crouse was born to Albert and Mary Victor on June 3, 1898, at Neubrn, Iowa. She and her husband, Albra L. Crouse, farmed at Washtucna until about 10 years ago, when they moved to Sandpoint. Mr. Crouse preceded his wife in death on Oct. 11, 1959. Mrs. Crouse had been residing at Hillcrest Manor in Ritzville for the last seven months. She was affiliated with the Methodist church and was a member of the Emerald Rebekah lodge at Washtucna for 44 years. During that time, she served as musician, recording secretary, right supporter to the noble grand, conductor, treasurer, district deputy president, vice grand, noble grand and drill captain. Surviving are two sons, John of Washtucna and Albert of Sandpoint; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Stover of Pendleton, Mrs. Rex Davis of Dayton and Mrs. Larry Instrom of Salem, Ore.; three brothers, Paul Victor of Fossil, Ore., Lewis Victor of Portland, Ore., and Neal Victor of Garfield; and three grandchildren. Rosary Services Set Here Sunday for Mrs. Sullivans Rosary services for Mrs. Alice B. Sullivan, 57, of Winner, S. Dak., mother of Mrs. Joe Jaeger, will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral Home. The Rev. Patrick Mimnaugh, pastor of St. Agnes Catholic church, will officiate. Requiem mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic church in Spokane. Interment will be at Holy Cross cemetery in Spokane. Mrs. Sullivan died Wednesday at a Winner hospital, where she had been since an automobile accident Nov. 17. Surviving besides Mrs. Jaeger are three sisters, Mrs. Louise Smith and Mrs. Celia Marchand of Seattle and Georgia Gravell of Brainerd, Minn.; a brother, Leo King of Seattle; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her husband, Barthalomew, passed away nine years ago. Services Held on Wednesday for Mr. Riess Funeral services for Albert John Riess, 56, former owner of the Star hotel in Ritzville, were held Wednesday at Emanuel Lutheran church. Riess died Saturday of a heart ailment at Adams County Memorial hospital after being ill one week. He was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Riess at Elgin, Minn., Nov. 13, 1905. He married Mable Sill Aug. 21, 1944, at Rochester, Minn. Riess had lived in Ritzville the last 17 years. Prior to that he served three years and eight months during World War II in the U.S. army. He was shop foreman at the Adams county road department at the time of his death. He was a member of the American Legion and the Lutheran church. Surviving are his wife at the home at 802 South Division; a daughter, Mrs. Jacqualine Pouley of Lind; five sisters, Mrs. Anna Roth and Mrs. Rosie Sanford, both of Rochester, Minn., Mrs. Lawrence Messner of Eyota, Minn., Mrs. Irene Meyers of Plainview, Minn., and Francis Smith of San Diego, Calif. Also surviving are five brothers, Herbert and Lester of Douglas, Minn., Clarence of Kosson, Minn., Harold of Rochester, Minn., and Kenneth of Minneapolis, Minn., and two grandchildren. Rev. Albert Wagner officiated at the services. Interment was at the Lutheran cemetery. Pallbearers were Clint Rowe, Alex Werner, Ted Ferderer, Lawrence Hilzer, Roger Hart and Orville Ahern. Funeral Services Held Saturday for Gail Howell, Ralston Farmer Funeral services for Gail R. Howell, 59, a well-known farmer who lived south of Ralston, were held Saturday at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral Home. Howell became ill at his home on Tuesday of last week and died the following day of a heart attack. Rev. Alfred Waln officiated at the services. Interment was at Wilbur where grandparents, parents and a brother are buried. Pallbearers were Lawrence Thiel and Orville Hull of Ritzville, Dale Taylor of Ralston, Ralph Snyder of Lind, Mel L. Jones of Sprague and Arnold Gentry of St. John. Howell was born Feb. 11, 1902, at Wilbur to Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Howell. He attended schools at Wilbur, where he lived until 1920. After attending Washington State University and Northwestern Business college, he began work for Standard Oil company of California in Spokane and remained there until 1936. He then took over the ownership of the International Harvester Implement company at Tekoa, where he and his family lived for five years before moving to the farm near Ralston in August, 1941. He and Mrs. Howell, the former Thelma E. Donnell whom he married in Spokane Dec. 22, 1928, have one son, Bruce, a Ritzville high school graduate and now a senior at Central Washington college. Howell was a member of Trinity Methodist church, the Masons, Eastern Star and the Inland Empire and State Arabian Breeders association. He also was a past master of Ralston Grange. Survivors besides his wife and son, are a brother, Overman L. Howell, a niece, Mrs. Arnold Gentry, and a nephew, Jim Howell, all of St. John, and a large relationship in the Creston-Wilbur area. Former Benge Resident Dies Recently at Evans BENGE - Word was received last week of the death of Mrs. Ben McLean of Evans. The McLeans were residents of Benge for a number of years before moving to Evans 17 years ago. Henry Moos Passes at Colfax Recently Henry Moos, 58, brother of Margaret Schott, died at Colfax Nov. 23. Moos had lived in the Colfax and Dusty area all his life. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, December 14, 1961 Pioneer Resident Passes BENGE - Funeral services for Andrew Morgan of Benge, 92, a pioneer resident of Adams county, were held Saturday at the Benge Community church. Morgan died at Hillcrest Manor in Ritzville, where he had been living the last year. Mr. Ralph Wendt officiated at the services. Interment was at the Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Clinesmith, James Clinesmith, Ken Killingsworth, Charles Saunders, William Allert and Herbert Kent. Honorary pallbearers included Charles Kent, Art Barnes, George Callaway, Allan Scott, Roy Scott and Ernie Norris. Morgan was born to Rev. Thomas Morgan, a Christian minister, and his wife, Rachel, on May 16, 1869, in Miami county, Kansas. When he was five years old the family left Kansas and traveled by emigrant train to Oregon by way of California. From San Francisco they traveled by steamboat to Coquille, Ore., where they lived until 1882. Their next move was to the Palouse, where Rev. Morgan farmed and preached at the Christian church, which still stands amid the pines. They next spent two years at Dayton and in 1887 moved to Adams county. They settled five miles northwest of the Sand Hills and were the first family in the locality. Rev. Morgan held services at the Sand Hills Rattlesnake Flats communities. Many hardships were enduring during the early years, including drought, squirrels eating the crops and the blizzard of 1889-90, which killed most of the livestock. Morgan and his brother would ride horseback to the Dayton country for wheat harvest by way of Lyons Ferry. His sister, Mary, taught school three years in Ritzville about 1889. On May 10, 1901, he married Maybelle May. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan to a homestead 12 miles south of Lind and in 1904 moved to a farm five miles west of Benge, where they made their home ever since. He was a member of the Christian church and had worked many years in the Sunday school. He also was a member of the Adams County Historical society. Morgan wrote a book of poetry during his lifetime and also a short book about his life. Surviving are his wife at the home; three daughters, Zona Connell of Benge, Dessie Barry of Lacrosse and Gladys Sutherland of Washtucna; 10 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Two daughters, Eva and Florence, preceded him in death. Eva died in 1917 and Florence in 1928. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, December 21, 1961 F. Adamson Dies In Spokane Frank Howard Adamson passed away in Spokane Friday and funeral services were held Monday at the Smith Funeral Home in Spokane. He is survived by his wife, Olivia Adamson, the former Olivia Anderson; one daughter, Barbara, at the home; three sons, Robert and Frank, jr., at the home and Glenn of Los Angeles, Calif.; his mother, Mrs. Florence Adamson of Spokane; and two brothers, Raymond of Deer Park and Robert of Spokane. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church. Emanuel Selcho Services Held Here Tuesday Funeral services for Emanuel (Hindy) Selcho, 63, a former Ritzville resident, were held Tuesday at Emanuel Lutheran church. Selcho died suddenly at his home in Roy, Ida., of heart faillure Wednesday, Dec. 13. Rev. Albert Wagner officiated at the services. Interment was at the Lutheran cemetery. Pallbearers were Ancil Miller and L. A. Ringe, both of American Falls, Ida., W. B. Kautz, Clarence Bauer, Paul Reimann and Lawrence Benzel. Honorary pallbearers included O. J. Kalkwarf, Frank West, A. H. Varnes, Alvin Wager, Henry Reimann and Carl Bauer. Selcho was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gottfied Selcho on Oct. 20, 1898, at Kulm, Russia. He lived in Ritzville from 1906 to 1921 and attended schools here. He was married to Mildred Meyer in Yakima on Nov. 26, 1921. He resideded in Spokane from 1921 to 1928 and then moved back to Ritzville until 1941. Since then he had made his home in Roy and Rockland, Ida. He had been a mechanic, road construction worker and farmer. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran church. Surviving are his wife, who lives at 205 W. Third; a daughter, Mrs. Everett (Irene) Doss of Ritzville; a son, Howard, of American Falls, and two brothers, Emil and John Selcho, both of Ritzville. Also surviving are his step-mother, Mrs. Christine Selcho of Ritzville; two half-sisters, Alvena Selcho of San Francisco, Calif., and Violet Harlow of Dayton, Ohio; a step-brother, Clarence Fleming of Seattle; and four grandchildren. Services Held for Resident of Sprague Funeral services for Mrs. Antonia Vorderbrueggen, 64, a Sprague resident for the last 16 years, were held Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran church in Sprague. Mrs. Vorderbrueggen died Friday at the Adams County Memorial hospital after a two-day illness. Rev. Arthur Matzke officiated at the services. Interment was at Macabee cemetery at Sprague. Pallbearers were John Carter, A. H. Haverkamp, Cecil Garner, Jack Duncan, Dean Scroggie and Robert Sharp. Mrs. Vorderbrueggen was born at Olivia, Minn., June 13, 1897, to Mr. and Mrs. Matt Safar. She was a member of the Lutheran church. Surviving are her husband, Frank, at the home; three daughters, Mrs. E. G. Oleson of Reno, Nev., Mrs. Vincent Jirava of Ritzville and Mrs. Amor Casper of Ogema, Minn.; a son, Gilbert Polda of Lamont; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a step-daughter, Mrs. Brad Eksledt of Moses Lake; a step-son, Bert Vorderbrueggen, of Cashmere; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Schumaker of Sprague and Mrs. Agnes Wacha of Ledgerwood, N.D.; and two brothers, Joe Safar and Andrew Safar, both of Ogema, Minn. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, December 28, 1961 Services Held for Schwisow Funeral services for David Frank Schwisow, five-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schwisow, were held Friday at Emanuel Lutheran church. David died Thursday at Lakeland Village. Rev. Albert Wagner officiated at the services. Interment was at the Lutheran cemetery. He was born Jan. 8, 1956. Surviving besides his parents are three sisters, Kristy, Randi and Nancy, all at the home and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bolon of Connell and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schwisow of Ritzville. Rodenberger Services Held Wednesday Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Rodenberger, 86, former Ritzville resident, who was residing in Kennewick, were held Wednesday at the Philadelphia Congregational church. Mrs. Rodenberger died Saturday in a Kennewick hospital. She had been in the hospital about two weeks. Rev. Herbert Haemmelmann officiated at the services. Interment was at Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers were Vic Rogel, Art Benzel, Frank Heimbigner, William Oestreich, Jesse Dewald and Calvin Miller. Anna E. Schwartz was born Dec. 10, 1875, at Hussenbach, Russia. She attended grade school in Russia and was married later to George Rodenberger in 1897 in Russia. She had lived in Ritzville from 1902 until 1959, when she moved to Kennewick. Mrs. Rodenberger was a member of the Philadelphia Congregational church and the Senior Ladies Aid. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Wellsandt of Ritzville, Mrs. Louise Atwood of Everett and Mrs. Lydia Mock of Kennewick; two sons, Fred of Tacoma and Roy of Missoula, Mont., a sister, Mrs. Anna Lenhart of Waterville; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Nick Angelo Services Held Last Week A rosary service and requiem mass were held last week for Nick Angelo, 63, well-known employee of the Milwaukee Railroad at Lind. Angelo died Wednesday, Dec. 20, of a heart attack. The Rev. Patrick Mimnaugh read the rosary service Friday evening at the Danekas Funeral Home chapel in Ritzville and the Rev. Salvitori Anguili, Angelo's brother, officiated at the requiem mass at St. Ambrose Catholic church in Lind Saturday morning. Interment was at the Lind cemetery. Pallbearers were John Barnett, John Shimek, Walter Krehbiel, Al Gross, Harry Kasper and O. B. Woodruff. Angelo was born to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Angelo in Italy on March 11, 1898. He had lived in the United States since 1914. He was married to Aldia Deyoung, who died in March, 1953. He had worked for the railroad at Lind for many years. Angelo was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joan Strohmaier of Lind and Mrs. Betty Woodruff of Okanogan; a son, Nick, jr., of Lind; four brothers, Pat Angelo of St. Maries, Ida., Rocco Anguili of Seattle, the Rev. Salvitori Anquili of New York and Joe Anguili of Italy; a sister, Carmala Anguili of Italy; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
