Graham were held here yesterday. He died Sunday following two weeks at the hospital. He was 87 years of age. Harry Graham was born in Labette county, Kansas, on July 20, 1879. He was a painter by trade. He is survived by his wife Blanche, at the home here; a daughter Mrs. Mildred Campbell of Dayton; and two sons, Wallace Graham of The Dalles, Ore., and Cliff Graham, Ritzville. Also surviving are four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The Rev. Beryl Melcher conducted graveside services at Ritzville Memorial cemetery at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, April 16, 1967 J. Carl Koch Dies in California Private services were conducted recently at White's chapel, Santa Cruz, Calif., for J. Carl Koch. Memorial services were conducted in Portland, Ore. Koch, 78, died March 23 in a Santa Cruz, Calif., hospital. A native of Ritzville, Koch was born June 29, 1888. He attended business college in Seattle. He lived in Oregon and Washington where he was in the banking business and moved to California in 1932 to be a bond broker in San Francisco and the San Joaquin Valley. He moved to Santa Cruz on his retirement in 1964. He was a member of the Masonic lodge of Ritzville and the Christian Science church. Koch is survived by his wife, Nell Koch of Santa Cruz; a son, Robert Koch of Carmel; three sisters, Mrs. Ophelia Egbers of Spokane, Mrs. Hannah Sturgeon of Coeur d'Alene, Ida., and Mrs. Emily Danekas of Ritzville; three brothers, Arthur Koch of Spokane; David Koch of Portland, Ore.; and Theodore Koch of Orlando, Fla., and one granddaughter. Funeral Service of George Stumpf Will Be Saturday The funeral of George Stumpf will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral home. He died just one day past his 89th birthday, on Tuesday of this week at Adams County Memorial hospital. He had been in poor health and had some hospitalization during the past two months. George Stumpf was born April 10, 1878, at Warrensburg, Russia. He came to the United States 71 years ago and had lived in Adams county for 66 years. He was a retired wheat farmer. His wife preceded him in death in 1958. Two sons survive, Emanuel Stumpf of Odessa and Fred Stumpf of Ritzville. There are two grandchildren and one great grandchild. The Rev. Gordon Welk will conduct the funeral service. Burial will be in Ritzville Memorial cemetery. James Altizer Rites Saturday James David Altizer died suddenly Wednesday while on duty at Sprague as a police officer. He had lived at Sprague the past three years and formerly lived in Ritzville where he was employed at the Davis hotel. Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the Community church in Sprague, with the Rev. Francis Klontz in charge. Altizer was born June 24, 1899, at Sheridan, Wyo. He is survived by his wife Barbara at Sprague. Burial will be in the Steptoe cemetery with Danekas Funeral home in charge. Chapel Services of Mrs. Streeter to Be Held Today Last rites for Elizabeth Streeter will be held today. She died Sunday at the Adams County Memorial hospital. The Rev. James Updike will conduct the services at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral home at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Streeter was born November 6, 1901, on the Lincoln-Adams county line, the daughter of Henry and Mabel Schafer. She is survived by her husband, Everett Streeter and by four daughters. They are Mrs. Harold Miller of Spokane, Mrs. Alfred Fode of Lind, Mrs. Richard Bailey of Suitland, Md., and Jacqueline Tormanen of Walla Walla. Survivors also are five sisters and two brothers. The sisters are Mrs. Fred Kupers, Mrs. Cecil McCall and Mrs. David Mann of Ritzville; Mrs. William Knapp of Harrington, and Mrs. Louis LaFraniere of Bellingham. The brothers are Henry Schafer of Yakima and William Schafer of Arcadia, Calif. There are 13 grandchildren surviving Mrs. Streeter. Arthur Kanzler Dies Wednesday, Rites Saturday Arthur Kanzler of Lind died Wednesday morning at the Adams County Memorial hospital. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Robert Hansen at the Assembly of God church in Lind at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Burial will be in the Lind cemetery. He was born October 21, 1898, in Ritzville. He had been a construction laborer. Surviving are his wife Emma, at the home in Lind, a daughter and three sons. Mrs. Derla Mae Taylor of Lind is the daughter. The sons are Kenneth Kanzler of Lind, Gerald Kanzler of Pullman and Gilbert Kanzler of Ritzville. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ben Schafer, Mrs. Martha Moon and Mrs. Jake Hoefel, all of Ritzville; and two brothers, Reinhart Kanzler of Olympia and Carl Kanzler of Portland, Ore. There are nine surviving grandchildren. Henry Geist Dies at His Home Here Henry Geist died at his home here Tuesday. He lived alone and was elderly. There are three daughters, one of whom is Mrs. Richard Telecky. Funeral arrangements were incomplete late Wednesday evening. The body is at Danekas Funeral home. Mrs. Lamphier Funeral Rites Held Friday CUNNINGHAM - Funeral services for a former Cunningham resident, Mrs. Marjorie Lamphier of Spangle, were held at 2 p.m. April 7 at the Memorial chapel of the Jerue Funeral home in Cheney with the Rev. Eugene W. Dowdle officiating. Interment was at the Spokane Memorial gardens. She is survived by her husband, Louis Lamphier at the home; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Bogle of Sprague, Mrs. Pauline Kissler of Spokane and Mrs. Doris Tompkins of Connell; two sons, William Pederson of Connell and Wilbur Pederson of Spencer, Ia.; 21 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two brothers, Bernard and Reginald Jones, both of London, England, one niece and one nephew. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, April 20, 1967 Funeral Is Held Here on Friday for Henry Geist Henry Geist was laid to rest Friday morning following memorial services at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral home. He died Tuesday of last week at his home here. Henry Geist was born July 5, 1892, at Walla Walla. His parents farmed in the Odessa area. Henry was married to Lena Gies September 6, 1915. She preceded her husband in death on Feburary 10, 1926. Geist farmed in the Moses Lake area before moving to Ritzville. He drove school bus for 30 years. He was married in June of 1951 to Norma Fritts. She died in March of 1955. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Steve Soltis (Marie) of Seattle, Mrs. Ernest Bluhm (Esther) of Spokane, Mrs. Jake Hamburg (Helen) of Moses Lake and Mrs. Richard Telecky (Ruth) of Ritzville. There are also seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren surviving. The Rev. Beryl Melcher conducted the funeral service. Milton Sackmann sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "The Lord's Prayer." His organ accompanist was Mrs. Orville Moeller. Pallbearers were Herman Bauer, Ed Faure, jr., Rudy Koch, Marvin Schoessler, Eugene Weber and Robert Weber. Burial was in the Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Joe Jaeger's Funeral Saturday in Lake City Joe Jaeger, jr., of Coeur d'Alene, Ida., was one of three who died in an airplace crash Monday near Oxbow, Ore. Mrs. Louise Downing, catering manager and Lyn Butterfield, assistant manager of the new North Shore motor hotel at Coeur d'Alene, died in the same accident. The three were returning home to the north Idaho recreation hub after attending a motor hotel convention in Twin Falls, Ida. Rosary services will be said tomorrow (Friday) at 7:30 p.m., at St. Thomas parish in Coeur d'Alene. Mass will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o'clock at St. Thomas. Father DeBolt and Father Charles M. Depiere will officiate. Interment will be in the St. Thomas cemetery. Joe lived in Ritzville 11 years, arriving here in 1953. In 1964 he moved to Coeur d'Alene. He had lived in Almira and Seattle prior to coming here. He was born April 28, 1916, and was only a few days short of 51 years of age when he died April 17. He was the owner of the Circle T Inn here, and was general manager of the North Shore Inn at Coeur d'Alene. Joe Jaeger belonged to Cougar club, the Eagles at Coeur d'Alene, the chamber of commerce here and Coeur d'Alene Vandal boosters. He was a member of the National Restaurant association, the Idaho Motel association, Cattlemen's association, Washington Restaurant association, Knights of Columbus, C. J. Newland post No. 51, American Legion, Ritzville Gun club and Idaho Pilots association. He is survived by his wife Maureen Jaeger at Coeur d'Alene, a son Jerry at Pullman and two daughters Mrs. Judy Gross, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Janice Cathey, Bonners Ferry, Ida. Three grandchildren survive, David Cathey, jr., James Cathey and Kelley Gross. Memorials to the life of Joe Jaeger may be given to the Joseph Jaeger, jr., Memorial Scholarship fund. Arrangments may be made through the Bank of Idaho at Coeur d'Alene. The memorial scholarship fund was established to help young men and women majoring in restaurant and motel administration at Washington State university. Memorial services for Joe Jaeger will be held at St. Agnes church here at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Mrs. Shideler Service Held Here Monday Funeral services for Mrs. Ora Shideler were held Monday at Trinity Methodist church. Mrs. Shideler, former Ritzville resident, died last Friday in Spokane where she had been visiting a daughter, Thora June Grovak. She had been living in Seattle. Anna Horch Shideler was born October 22, 1895, at Lincoln, Nebr. She came with her parents to Adams county in 1903 when the family began homesteading on a ranch north of Ritzville. She married Ora Shideler in 1929. He was a member of the Ritzville Drug Co., firm for a number of years. Mrs. Shideler and her family were interested in athletics and were among the promoters of the high school athletic stadium and the Ritzville golf course. She was a member of the Methodist church here and later of the University Methodist Temple in Seattle. She was affiliated with Zenith chapter, Order of Eastern Star in Ritzville. Four children, all of whom came for the funeral, survive. They are Mrs. William Taft, Fairfax, Calif.; Arnold C. Gillivray, Sausalito, Calif., Sheldon McGillivray, Bellevue; and Thora June Grovak, Spokane. There are also five grandchildren and two great grandchildren surviving. Mrs. Mollie Pettijohn of Berkeley, Calif., and Mrs. Marie Irwin of Spokane are sisters. The Rev. James Updike conducted the funeral. Milton Sackmann, accompanied by Mrs. Oroville Moeller sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "The Lord's Prayer." Pallbearers were Edwin Longmeier, Henry Jansen, Lawrence Walenta, Fred Schwisow, Robert Barnes and Howard Telecky. Honorary pallbearers were Stan Telecky, S. E. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, April 27, 1967 George Stumpf Rites Conducted Funeral services for George Stumpf were held April 15 at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral home. The Rev. Gordon Welk of the Assembly of God church conducted the service. Milton Sackmann sang "Nearer My God To Thee" in German, and "Only Remember." Miss Anita Benzel was organist. Pallbearers were Rueben Derr, Henry Becker, John Selcho, Fred Becker, Virgil Hein, and LeRoy Kessler. Honorary pallbearers were Jacob Weizel and Victor Donis. Concluding services and vault interment were at Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, May 4, 1967 Chewelah Boy Is Stricken Rickey Lee Razey, son of Margaret and Stanley B. Razey of Chewelah, died April 29 at his home. Rickey had had open heart surgery November 1, 1966. He was doing very well and was back in school since January 3, 1967. He was playing with their neighbor's children when stricken. Besides his parents he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Razey, maternal great grandfather Roy Wadell of Chewelah and paternal great grandfather James A. Davis of Carmen, Okla. Funeral services were Tuesday from the Bryant Funeral home at Chewelah. Mrs. Ollie Hughes Rites Are Held BENGE - Funeral services were held for Mrs. Ollie Dell Hughes Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Mayflower chapel of the DeMoss- Durdan Funeral home. Concluding services were at Oaklawn Memorial park in Corvallis. Mrs. Hughes was a Benge resident for a number of years. She was born February 17, 1877, at Arcana, Ind., and died April 23, 1967, at the age of 90. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William Daly, sr., of Philomath, Ore., and Mrs. Dale Holliday of Benge. Also surviving are a granddaughter, Mrs. William Daly, jr., and a great grandson, Torry Daly of Bend, Ore. Mrs. Hughes' husband, Stuart Hughes, preceded her in death in July of 1947 at Corvallis. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, May 11, 1967 Mrs. Seebart's Body Is Sent to Montana The body of Mrs. Lorena Seebart was sent to Wolf Point, Mont., following her death here last week. Her mother lives there, as well as a brother, George Leondorf, officials learned. Her husband Fred Seebart was taken to Medical lake state hospital for treatment. Jacob Walter Service Held on Saturday Jacob Walter, sr., died May 3 here, having reached the age of 83 years. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at Zion Congregational church with the Rev. Beryl Melcher in charge. Jacob Walter was born March 14, 1884, in Russia, the son of Conrad and Margareta Lenhart Walter. He came to this county 53 years ago. He engaged in wheat farming. Surviving are his wife Mary, at home; four daughters and two sons. The daughters are Mrs. G. M. (Henriette) Plymale of Brazil, Mrs. E. J. (Helen) Gullridge of Seattle; Mrs. Edward (Viola) Lilla of Spokane, and Mrs. Rosemary Schwisow of Ritzville. The sons are Jake Walter of Deer Park and Karl Walter of Harrington. A sister, Mrs. Katie Betz, lives at Tacoma. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Pat Schafer and Mrs Lillian Miller sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and "In The Garden." Their accompanist was Mrs. Orville Moeller. Pallbearers were Theodore Walters, Thomas Walters, Karl Plymate, James Gullidge, Jonathan Lilla and Michael Schwisow. Burial was in the Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Albert Manke Funeral Held Here Monday Funeral services for Albert E. Manke were held Monday at Emanuel Lutheran church. He died at Adams County Memorial hospital May 5 after a stay of three days there. He was born March 3, 1901, at Ritzville, the son of Albert A. and Bertha Seegar Manke. He had lived here his entire life, engaging in wheat and cattle farming. Manke was past president and director of the National Farm Loan association of Davenport. He belonged to Marcellus Grange and Emanuel Lutheran church. Surviving are his wife Hazel, at home; and three sons, Albert A. Manke of Ritzville, Donald D. Manke of Puyallup and David R. Manke of San Francisco. A sister, Mrs. Richard Dehnel, lives here. Richard Manke of Espanola and Ted Manke of Ritzville are brothers. There are two grandchildren. The Rev. Floyd Yokers conducted the funeral. Mrs. Lawrence Kramer sang "Abide With Me" and "Saved By Grace." Mrs. Orville Moeller was her organ accompanist. Pallbearers were Melvin Benzel, Gayle Gering, Harold Undeberg, Donald Arlt, Stanford Telecky and Clifford Telecky. Honorary pallbearers were Clarence Thiel, Wilmerd Heinemann, Lawrence Peterson, Donald Danekas, Eber Bly, Lawrence Benzel, William Moeller, John F. Green and Philip Koch. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery. Mrs. Scheel Rite Planned Saturday Mrs. Minnie Scheel died Tuesday night at the Adams County Memorial hospital. She had celebrated her 90th birthday at the hospital on May 1. Funeral services will be conducted at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral home at 2 o'clock on Saturday night. Members of the family have suggested friends who may wish to memorialize Mrs. Scheel's life contribute to the heart fund. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, May 18, 1967 Mrs. Scheel, Pioneer Here, Laid To Rest Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie A. Scheel were held Saturday afternoon at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral home. She died May 9 at Adams County Memorial hospital after a confinement there of 17 days. She was 90 years, eight days of age. Minnie Ahlers was born May 1, 1877, in Illinois. As a girl of nine she was one of a party of about 35 emigrants who came west on the Northern Pacific railroad, arriving in Ritzville in midsummer of 1886. Her parents Diedrich and Emma Huntemann Ahlers, homesteaded southeast of Ritzville at the very site now of the Will and Minnie Scheel home for so many years along U.S. 395. In the overland party were members of the pioneer families of Clodius, Spanjer's and Vehrs. Mrs. Scheel and her husband became parents of the only triplets ever born in Adams county on March 22, 1905. All three of the triplets are living today. They are Mrs. Carl (Doris) Heinemann, Dean Scheel at home with his father and Dorothy, Mrs. Clarence Thiel of Washtucna. Survivors include, besides the husband Will and Dean, Doris and Dorothy, three grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Scheel was a member of the Adams County Historical society, Rebekah lodge No. 18, Marcellus Grange, the Ritzville Woman's club and Trinity Methodist church. The Rev. James Updike conducted the service. Mrs. Alma Galbreath sang "In The Garden" and "Saved by Grace." Her organ accompanist was Mrs. Lillian Hoffman. Pallbearers were Clint Rowe, Calvin Moesle, S. E. Edwards, Harvey Evans, Harry Wolsborn and Ernest Deking. Honorary pallbearers were George Freese, John Freese, Dan Kembel, William Rosenoff, Fred Luiten and Robert Newland. Concluding services and vault interment were held at Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, May 25, 1967 Funeral Service of Gustav Knodel Will Be on Friday Funeral services for Gustav Knodel of Lind will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Zion Congregational church in Lind. He died Monday at a Spokane nursing home where he had been for nine weeks. Gustav Knodel was born in Russia on September 26, 1892. He came to the United States at the age of 10. He was a retired wheat farmer. Surviving are his wife, Emma, at home in Lind; and a son, Rueben Knodel of Lind. There are three grandchildren surviving. Also surviving are two sisters, Lydia Hoffman and Mary Davis of Spokane, and four brothers, Rudolph of Ritzville, Fred of Yakima, Martin of Fairfield and Otto of Medical Lake. The Rev. R. Kirschenmann will conduct the service. Milton Sackmann will sing accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Emil Sackmann. Burial will be in the Lind cemetery. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, June 1, 1967 C. Breitkreutz Funeral Rites 2 p.m. Today Funeral services will be conducted for Charles W. Breitkreutz today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral home with the Rev. James Updike officiating. Breitkreutz was born in Arlington, Minn., December 5, 1885, and died May 29 in Deaconess hospital in Spokane after an illness of a month. His wife, Mazie, and a son, Floyd, preceded him in death. Survivors include a sister, Laura M. Steinke of Spokane; a brother, Ervin E. Breitkreutz of Ritzville; nephews, W. A. Jaehn of Spokane and Ervin Breitkreutz, jr., of San Francisco, Calif., and nieces, Mrs. Leah Smith of Anchorage, Alaska, and Mrs. Dora Storey of Portland, Ore. He was a pioneer businessman of more than 50 years in the Ritzville- Lind area and for more than 20 years operated his own auto-machinery- appliance store. He was a member of Trinity Methodist church and a member of the old Ritzville Glee club. He was very interested in Lakeland Village associates and contributed to that cause. Funeral of Jim Ferre Is Held In Spokane Mr. and Mrs. Ervin H. Ziemer attended the funeral of Jim Ferre at the Hazen & Jaeger Funeral home in Spokane Monday. Ferre had been in ill health for over a year. His death came suddenly Thursday, May 25. Ervin H. Ziemer was a pallbearer. Burial was in Fairmont cemetery. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, June 8, 1967 Marie Nielson Service Held Here Tuesday Memorial services for Marie Ida Eiler Nielsen were held Monday morning at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral home here. She was 93 years of age and had lived here for about the last 15 years. She was born August 26, 1873, at Horsens, Denmark. When 21 years old she came to the United States to marry her Danish sweetheart, Anton H. Eiler. The couple was wed at Duluth, Minn., and settled there. One son, Jean Jerome Eiler, was born to them. In 1909 the family moved to Chicago, Ill., and for 43 years Mrs. Eiler lived there and in the suburb of Oak Park. In 1916 Anton Eiler died and she married Adolph Nielsen of Chicago. It was after the death of the second husband that Mrs. Nielson moved to Ritzville. She bought her own home here, and in recent years lived at Hillcrest manor. She was educated in a private school in Horsens and confirmed there in the Lutheran church. She was a life member of the Oak Park chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and of the Dania club of Chicago. She traveled extensively, having made 11 trips to Europe, the last one when she was 85 years old. Surviving are her son, Jean, Vashon Island; a granddaughter, Mrs. Terry Frombach, also of Vashon; a grandson, William Eiler of Las Vegas, Nev.; a number of great grandchildren; a step-daughter, Mrs. Olga Baxter of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two nieces, Mrs. Alvida Zander of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. John Ott, Ritzville. A brother in Denmark also survives. Gotthilf Haase Funeral Is held Here Wednesday Gotthilf Haase of Lind died Monday in Lind. Funeral services were held at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral home in Ritzville at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon with the Rev. Edward Schmidt of Lind officiating. The deceased was 64 years of age. Two daughters, Mrs. Dave Ghan and Mrs. Lloyd Pulliam of Seattle, survive as does a son, Stanley Haase of Aberdeen. There are also four granchildren and four sisters surviving, Mrs. William Cronrath of Ellensburg, Mrs. Henry Rott of Spokane, Mrs. Thomas Smith of Astoria, Ore., and Mrs. William Hays of Ellensburg. Two brothers survive, John Haase of Washtucna and Toby Haase of Cheney. Mr. Haase was a member of the Congregational church. Burial was in Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard Smith, Herbert Haase, Robert Haase, Robert Sitton, Royal Longmeier and Gary Lathrop. Mrs. Graham Laid To Rest Graveside services for Mrs. Blanche Fay Graham were held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Ritzville Memorial cemetery. She died at her home at 410 East Cherry June 1 at the age of 84. She is survived by a daughter, Mildred Graham of Dayton, and two sons, Wallace of The Dalles, Ore., and Clifford of Ritzville. There are also four grandchildren and four great grandchildren surviving. The Rev. Beryl Melcher conducted the funeral service. Funeral Is Saturday for Kathleen Letsch HATTON - Funeral services for Mrs. Kathleen L. Letsch, 54,were held at the Methodist church in Connell Saturday morning with the Rev. Roger K. Johnson of Lind officiating. Mrs. John Loewen sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Just A Closer Walk with Thee." Her accompanist was Mrs. Del Smick. Mrs. Letsch died May 31 at the hospital in Othello after a lengthy illness from cancer. She was born in Kansas on December 4, 1912, to Mr. and Mrs. Gregory C. Lyster. Mr. and Mrs. Letsch and children came to Hatton from Kansas about 10 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist church. She is survived by her husband, George Letsch at the home; a son, William Letsch of Seattle; a daughter Mrs. Curtis (Karen) Kron of Moses Lake; her father, Gregory C. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, June 15, 1967 Katherine Jones Funeral Service Held in Spokane Funeral services were held for Mrs. Arthur D. (Katherine) Jones last Thursday at Smith Funeral home in Spokane. Mrs. Jones died in an auto accident June 4 near Spokane. She was born April 20, 1900, at Bowdle, S. Dak. Seven sisters and two brothers survive. The sisters are Mrs. Paul Plager of Spokane, Mrs. Manuel Hille of Walla Walla, Mrs. Dorwin Harris of Connell, Mrs. William Becker of Sprague, Mrs. Emma Holden, Mrs. Richard Koeplin and Mrs. Alex Steinmetz, Ritzville. The brothers are Floyd Gleich of Kennewick and Conrad Gleich of Spokane. The Rev. Donald Taylor, minister of the Lutheran church at Sandpoint, Ida., conducted the funeral. Burial was in Riverside cemetery at Spokane. Pallbearers were Lee Pierce, Reiny Weber, Al Kellar, Loris Kuest, Daryl Plager and Larry Steinmetz. Mrs. Behringer Funeral Service Held Here Tuesday Mrs. Minnie Behringer died Saturday at University manor in Spokane. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral home. Interment was in the Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Minnie Risley Behringer was born February 20, 1873, at Lanark, Ill. She attended public schools there and Illinois State university. She taught in the Lanark public school for 15 years. She married David J. Behringer at Boulder, Colo., on June 26, 1906, and the couple came to Ritzville. They lived here 42 years. He was employed as a cashier at Old National bank and retired in 1938. Mr. Behringer died April 11, 1948. That same year Mrs. Behringer moved to Spokane to live. She was a member of the Lanark Methodist church and after she came to Ritzville, joined Trinity Methodist church in 1910. She was very active in its Sunday school and other church organizations. Mrs. Behringer and her husband liked children and showed their liking in many ways. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Moeller were their next door neighbors here for many years, and took an active interest in Mrs. Behringer. The Rev. James Updike conducted the funeral service. Milton Sackmann sang "Beyond The Sunset" and "Asleep in Jesus." Mrs. Orville Moeller was organ accompanist. Pallbearers were Herbert Moeller, Walter Proctor, William Rosenoff, David Hoefel, William Thiel and August Sielaff. Ted Frieske Service Held Wednesday Funeral services for Theodore W. (Ted) Frieske were held Wednesday at the chapel of the Danekas Funeral home with the Rev. Beryl Melcher officiating. Frieske died June 12 at the Adams County Memorial hospital. He was born February 12, 1895, in Russia and had lived in Adams county 66 years. During this time he worked some 22 years for David Hoefel in the Ford garage in Ritzville and in later years farmed in the Lind area. He was a member of Ritzville's Zion Congregational church. His first wife, Lydia, preceded him in death in 1950. Surviving are his wife, Eva, at the home in Lind, and a daughter, Mrs. Gerald Oestreich of Moses Lake. Three sisters, Mrs. Lydia Lens and Mrs. Tillie Lobe of Odessa and Mrs. Bertha Sauer of Lind survive. He also leaves one brother, Gust Frieske of Spokane. There are three surviving step-children, Mrs. David Ghan and Mrs. Lloyd Pulliam of Seattle, and Stanley Haase of Aberdeen, as well as six grandchildren. Pallbearers include Vance Hurt, Ronald Davidson, Joe Campbell, Richard Jensen, Arthur Kulm and William Strohmaier. Burial was in Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, June 22, 1967 Davisson burial Set for Today John W. Davisson died Sunday at Spokane. Until his recent retirement Davisson lived for several years at the Hotel Davis here and was active in his well drilling business in Adams and Lincoln counties. He was born in West Virginia October 7, 1893. He engaged in the well drilling business for many years in Kansas and the southwest before moving to Spokane 20 years ago. Surviving are his wife Olive, at home in the Spokane valley; a sister, Mrs. Roy (Maude) Day and two brothers, C. T. Davisson and Frank P. Davisson, all of Clarksburg, W. Va. There are also numerous nieces and nephews surviving. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Colonial chapel of the Hazen & Jaeger Funeral home in the Spokane valley. The Rev. James P. Dowdy of Millwood Community Presbyterian church conducted the service. Graveside services will be held this afternoon at White Chapel Memorial Gardens cemetery, Wichita, Kas. Patmos lodge No. 97, AF&AM of Eldorado, Kas., will officiate. Davisson was a member of the Wichita consistory, Scottish Rites bodies; and Midian Temple of the Shrine, Clarksburg, S. Va. He had been a member of the Elks for 52 years, retaining his membership in Clarksburg, W. Va., lodge No. 482, BPOE. Ruby Johnston Service Held On Wednesday Funeral services for Ruby Pearl Johnston were held Wednesday afternoon at the Washtucna Community church. She died Saturday after only a day in Adams County Memorial hospital. She was a long-time Washtucna resident, the mother of 11 children, who with her husband, Neil Johnston, survive her. Ruby Pearl Duering was born in Nebraska on October 3, 1916. She was noble grand of the Rebekahs at Washtucna at the time of her death. She was a member of the Washtucna Community church. The surviving children are Miss Patsy and Miss Bonnie Johnston, both at home in Washtucna; Mrs. Barbara Hubbard, Spokane; Mrs. Eva Mae Windsor, Kahlotus; Mrs. Donna Loveless, Stevensville, Mont.; Norris H. Johnston, Portland, Ore.; Charles G. Johnston, Washtucna; Wayne W. Johnston, U. S. Air Force; Ronald N. Johnston, Spokane, and Larry J. and Bradley D. Johnston, Washtucna. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Duering of Lebanon, Ore., survive her, as do two sisters and two brothers. The sisters are Mrs. Esther Ball and Mrs. Betty J. Haney, both of Salt Lake City, Utah. The brothers are Richard Duering of Salt Lake City and Herman Duering of Grand Island, Nebr. There are also three half sisters, a step sister and a step brother surviving. There are six grandchildren surviving. The Rev. Ralph Smith conducted the funeral service. Elmer Lee sang "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Mrs. Frank West was his accompanist. Burial was in the Washtucna cemetery. Mrs. Adler Laid To Rest Elizabeth Adler died June 15 in a Spokane hospital. Funeral services were held at Emanuel Lutheran church here Monday afternoon. The Rev. F. J. Ahrendt conducted the service. She was born October 30, 1887, in Kolb, Russia. A son, Victor, and a daughter, Mrs. Laura Cuff, survive their mother. Both live in Spokane. A sister, Mrs. Mary Rogel of Ritzville survives. Two grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive. Gordon Swyter sang "Rock of Ages" and "What a Friend We Have In Jesus." His accompanist was Mrs. Orville Moeller. Pallbearers were Dave Kramer, Ralph Streeter, Calvin Moesle, Larry Benzel, Fred Benzel and Roy Koch. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, June 29, 1967 Funeral Service of Mrs. Anderson Are Held Monday Funeral services were held Monday at Colfax for Mrs. Therese Elizabeth Brockling Anderson. She died June 22 at St. Ignatius hospital in Colfax after a long illness. Mrs. Anderson was the daughter of a pioneer Ritzville family, Mr. and Mrs. John Brockling who lived here from 1887 until their death. Mrs. Anderson was baptized, confirmed and married at Zion Congregational church of which her parents were charter members. She married A. L. Anderson in 1910. Mrs. Anderson has resided in the Colfax area for many years. Her husband died in 1964. Surviving are a son, Stanford Anderson of Pasco, and two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Lazelle of Fernwood, Ida., and Wilma Burnett of Potlatch, Ida. Four sisters also survive, Mrs. Wilhelmina Buscher and Mrs. Mary S. Vehrs of Spokane, Mrs. Sophie Anderson of St. John and Mrs. Peter (L. Elsie) Koch of Ritzville. Funeral services were at the chapel of the L. L. Bruning Funeral home in Colfax. Interment was in the Pullman city cemetery. Henry H. Smith Funeral Service Being Held Today Funeral services for Henry H. Smith will be at 10 o'clock today at the Hazen & Jaeger Funeral home in Spokane. He died Saturday while on a trip to Bonners Ferry, Ida. A long-time farmer here, he reached the age of 87. Henry Smith was born in Minnesota and came to this area as a young man. He worked on farms for a while, then farmed for himself, at first near Marcellus. He married Mamie Judd, a Spokane young woman. Later Smith bought the farm just over the Lincoln county line on the Harrington road now operated by Robert Smith, his son. Mr. and Mrs. Smith retired in 1942 and moved to Spokane where they had lived ever since. Surviving are two sons, Vernon H. and Robert E. There are five grandchildren. A son, Clifford, died during World War II in a plane accident here. The Rev. Dr. Alexander Schiffner of Bethel Temple will conduct the funeral. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial terrace. Final Tribute Is Paid to Life of Roy P. Scott Roy P. Scott died suddenly Thursday of last week at Soap Lake where he had gone a day earlier for water treatment. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Trinity Methodist church with the American Legion taking part in graveside ceremonies at Ritzville Memorial cemetery afterward. Roy Pryor Scott was born August 3, 1893, at Odessa, Mo. He had been a resident of Adams county for 68 years. Until his retirement in 1949 he had farmed and ranched in the Benge community. During a busy life he had served in many posts of responsibility. These included the office of Adams county commissioner, president of the Production Marketing board of Adams county, past noble grand of the IOOF lodge No. 296 at Benge and past master of the Benge Grange. He also served as a justice of the peace at Ritzville. He was a member of Trinity Methodist church. He also was a member of the Ritzville Lions club and of C. J. Newland post of the American Legion. He enlisted in the army at Ritzville in 1918 and received his discharge at Camp Lewis in 1919. His wife Lillian survives him. A sister, Mrs. Luvetia Beckley of Northport and a brother, Allen D. Scott of Benge survive. There are two step-daughters surviving, Mrs. Malcolm McMinn, Lake Oswego, Ore., and Mrs. William Andrew, Toronto, Canada. Four grandsons survive, Michael, Joe, Craig and Peter McMinn of Lake Oswego. A son of a previous marriage, Jackie, died in 1933 at the age of five. The Rev. Donald Cramer conducted the funeral service, attended by many friends who had come to pay their tribute to Roy Scott. Malcolm McMinn sang "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked" and "The 23rd Psalm." Accompaning him at the organ was Mrs. Orville Moeller. Pallbearers were Carl Heinemann, Robert Danekas, Ray Rummer, Jess Dewald, Edward Cross and John Rowe. Honorary pallbearers were Emil Wellsandt, Herb Beckley, Ernie Norris, Bill Hackett, Dave Weber, Delbert Pence, Fred Slipper, Robert Newland, R. H. Phillips, Edward Wahl, Roy Holliday, Archie Kennedy, Mike Austin, Pete Miller, Vern Benshoff and Rudolph Plager. The Legion rites at the cemetery was presentation of the American flag, the firing squad and the sounding of taps.
