Kagele, 20, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kagele of route 1, Odessa. The state patrol filed this report: "The vehicle was westbound rounded a curve to the left and drove 147-feet on the shoulder and struck steel bridge railing with right side causing the vehicle to become airborne for 60 feet. "The driver was then thrown from the vehicle and the vehicle rolled twice, at least once over the driver before coming to rest on its wheels facing north on the left shoulder. No seat belts in use." Officer Floyd Stalder and Sgt. Austin Jerpe of the patrol investigated about 7 a.m. after the accident was discovered. Kagele is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kagele; a brother, Clark Kagele, and a sister, Miss Susan Kagele, all at the home. His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Kagele, live in Ritzville. He also leaves his maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schell of Marlin. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Christ Lutheran church in Odessa with the Rev. Herman Cronrath and the Rev. John Birchard officiating. Interment was at Odessa cemetery with Strate Funeral home in charge. F. Heimbigner Funeral Held December 20 Fred W. Heimbigner, 70, passed away at a Spokane hospital Sunday evening, December 17, 1967, after an illness of five months. His home was in Spokane. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lydia Heimbigner; one son, Robert F. Heimbigner, and one daughter, Mrs. Louells Sleeman, all at the home; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. One brother, Clarence C. Heimbigner of Odessa, and one sister, Mrs. Rose H. Guiberson of Spokane also survives as does an uncle, H. H. Heimbigner of Ritzville, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Heimbigner was born near Ritzville to a pioneer Inland Empire couple, John and Anna Maria Heimbigner, who had homesteaded there. At age 11 his parents purchased land three miles southeast of Odessa to where the family moved. On May 25, 1917, he was joined in marriage to Lydia Hardung, the daughter of another pioneer couple, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Hardung, sr. He farmed in the Odessa area until 1955 when he purchased and operated a farm at Chewelah. In April 1966 he sold his Chewelah ranch and retired to his present address in Spokane. Heimbigner was a progressive farmer, being the first to go to tractor farming and handling his grain in bulk. He was the first farmer to experiment with and successfully operate a self-propelled harvester. He was instrumental in getting electricity to farms, helping organize the Rural Electric cooperative and serving as a board member. He also served on the first Lincoln County ASCS committee. He helped organize the first freezer plant in Odessa and served as its president until the business was sold. He also served for a time as director of the Grange Supply Co. He was a member of the Lutheran church, past master of the Odessa Grange No. 931, and past president of the Odessa Union Warehouse Co. Heimbigner was active in many community activities including the Odessa chamber of commerce. Funeral services were held at Thornhill-Geraghty Funeral home in Spokane, Wednesday, December 20, at 2 p.m. with Pastor A. Selid officiating. Pallbearers, all past masters of the Grange, were Harley Nauditt of Chewelah, A. E. Scheibner, W. B. Zagelow, C. H. Scrupps, John E. Deife and Victor Kramer, all of Odessa. Graveside services were held at Fairmount Memorial park in Spokane with last rites conducted by Master Roy A. Walter and Chaplain Lydia Scrupps of Odessa Grange No. 931. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, January 11, 1968 'Doc' Harris Dies Jan. 3 in Seattle A. D. (Doc) Harris died on January 3 in a nursing home in Seattle. Survivors include his wife Nelle, Seattle, and two daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Harris lived in this area for about 30 years, having farmed northeast of Ritzville. They were members of Trinity Methodist church. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, January 18, 1968 Alvin Harris Funeral Held Memorial services for Alvin D. Harris were held Sunday afternoon, January 7, in the Fauntleroy Community church with the Rev. James Reynolds officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Mausoleum in west Seattle. Harris died January 3 in Seattle. He was born in Louisville, Ken., on April 14, 1878. He went to Spokane in 1906 and was married to Nellie Olson on November 10, 1912. In 1925 he and his family moved to Ritzville where he farmed until 1955 when he retired and moved to Seattle. Survivors include his wife Nellie; two daughters, Mrs. Milton Weiss of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Allan Easton of Seattle; two grandchildren, David and Kathryn Easton; and a sister, Mrs. Paul Helphrey, Long Beach, Calif. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, January 25, 1968 Funeral Rites of W. G. Wahl Set Saturday Funeral services for Wilhelm G. Wahl will be held at 1 o'clock Saturday at Philadelphia Congregational church. He died Tuesday night at Deaconess hospital in Spokane following an illness. Wahl was a lifetime wheat farmer in Adams county until his retirement. He was born April 12, 1898, in Bessarabia, Russia. When he was 12 years of age he moved with his family to the United States. He is survived by his wife, the former Ida Gross, at home at 307 East Third avenue in Ritzville, by two daughters and a son. The daughters are Mrs. Laurence Lenhart and Mrs. Albert Bossert of Kamloops, B. C., Can. The son is Milton Wahl of Ritzville. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Albert Sackmann and Mrs. Martin Sackmann, both of Lind. Three brothers who survive are Reinhold Wahl of Sandy, Ore., Otto Wahl of Vancouver, Wash., and Emil Wahl of Lind. There are eight grandchildren. Wahl was a member of the Philadelphia Congregational church, the Ralston Grange and of Eagles Lodge No. 2739, Ritzville. Burial will be in the Lind cemetery. The Rev. Ernest Sprenger will conduct the funeral. Family members have suggested that memorial gifts be given to the Adams county chapter of the Washington Association for Retarded children or the Cancer crusade. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, February 1, 1968 Gun Wound Takes Life of D. Webb A singer and guitar player who hoped to run a dance hall in Ritzville, Delmus Webb, died early Sunday morning protecting his Seattle boss from burglars. Delmus, 35, and his wife Bonnie had made their last trip to the city before starting what they looked forward to as a new life in Ritzville. Webb was gunned down by one of a pair of men while attempting to prevent armed robbery of the tavern where he was an entertainer. Mrs. Otis Maine of Ritzville described what she had learned of the horrible event from two sons and a daughter living in the Seattle area. It was after hours and the bar was closed. People came to the locked front door and knocked. Since Willie Green, the bartender, knew the people, he opened the door and told them the bar was closed. The visitors knocked Willie down, then Dee came from one side to push the invading pair back outside. By that time Bonnie leaped into the fray on the sidewalk, trying to get between her husband and the men. One of the two men then shot Webb in the chest. Both men were armed. Law officers later arrested two men and two women who were with them. Bonnie Webb went to the jail Sunday and identified the man who had shot her husband. Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Saturday at the Danekas Funeral home. Mrs. Webb has been attending Ritzville high school to complete high school training. Their daughter Shelly, called Bonnie, is seven and in the first grade. Delmus, jr., is five. Also surviving are a brother Lloyd in Kennewick, a sister Dicey of Moses Lake and a sister living back east. Both of Webb's parents are dead. Ernest Gould Dies In Work Accident Ernest Wesley Gould, construction worker on the freeway out of Sprague, died Monday in an industrial accident on the job. A shift foreman, Gould was employed by Erickson Paving Co., of Seattle. He is survived by his wife Helen and a son. Gould was born March 16, 1910. Funeral services will be held at The Dalles, Ore. Danekas Funeral home has handled arrangements at Sprague and here. Funeral Services of Mrs. Pflum Held Tuesday Funeral services for Laura Ethel Pflum were held Tuesday at the Methodist church in Lind. She died last Friday at Odessa Memorial hospital. She had been a patient for three and a half months. She was born October 27, 1892. Mrs. Pflum had been a member of the Rebekah lodge for 50 years. Surviving her at home in Lind is her husband Sam Pflum. There are three step-children, Glenn Pflum of Richland, Gladys Fox of Hannibal, Mo., and Thelma Dimmett of Canton, Mo. There are four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. J. W. Watkins of Phoenix, Ore., survives. The Rev. Roger Johnson and the Rev. Edward Schmidt conducted the funeral. Burial was in the Lind cemetery. Wahl Funeral Rite Is Held Funeral services for Wilhelm G. Wahl were held at the Philadelphia Congregational church Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Ernest Sprenger conducted the service. Burial was in the Lind cemetery. A male quartet sang "Der Herr ist" and "Nearer My God to Thee." Members were Carl and Jake Hoefel, Dan Roloff and Elmer Heimbigner. Miss Gail Meyer was accompanist. Pallbearers were Oscar Anderson, George Becker, jr., Ted Young, Fred Floether, Wayne Freeman and Alfred Sackmann. Honorary pallbearers were Gottlieb Adlinger, Alfred Sitko, Fred Schmidt, Henry Melcher, John D. Haase, Fred Kramer, Frank Marshall, George Oestreich, Lyman Haight, Emil Hess, Emanuel Bossert and Ben Gross. Mrs. Mike Thiel Dies Wednesday Mrs. Mike Thiel passed away late Wednesday evening at Adams County Memorial hospital. She had been in poor health for a number of years and recently made her home at Hillcrest manor. Funeral arrangements are being made by Danekas Funeral home. Anna Miller Funeral Set for Today Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Miller will be at 2 o'clock today. Mrs. Miller died Monday night at Ritzville Memorial hospital after being a patient there for three weeks and three days. She was born in Frank, Russia, on August 1, 1880. She came to the United States with her parents when she was seven years old. They settled first in Nebraska, then moved to Seattle. The family came to Adams county and homesteaded, among the very earliest pioneers here when there wasn't even a Ritzville yet. The Miller homestead was a mile above Schoonover. In 1899 Anna was married to John Jacob Miller. He died in 1947. Five daughters and four sons survive Mrs. Miller. The daughters are Mrs. Ralph Streeter, Mrs. John Heimbigner of Woodburn, Ore., Mrs. Freda Koch, Mrs. Esther Hughes and Mrs. Lester VanVleet. The sons are Alvin Miller of Portland, Ore., Clarence Miller of Moses Lake, Otto Miller of Connell and J. Austin Miller. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren. The Rev. Beryl Melcher will conduct the funeral. Burial will be in the Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Larry Clark will sing. His organ accompanist will be Cheryl Patten. Pallbearers will be Richard Miller, Theodore Miller, Edward Siegel, Lawrence Schafer, Paul Schafer and Jim Kadlec. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, February 8, 1968 Funeral Services for Mina Motley to Be Held Friday Funeral services for Mina S. Motley will be held at the Methodist church in Lind at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. She died Tuesday at her home at Lind at the age of 80. She had been a resident of this county for 72 years. She was a member of the Christian church. There are four daughters who survive her: Mrs. Robert (Winnifred) Haggerty of Spokane, Mrs. Bert (Mildred) Rinker of Kennewick, Mrs. Godfrey (Mina) Meilke of Lind and Mrs. Chet (Alice) Phillips of Lind. One son, Arthur Motely of Addy survives. A brother survives, Clarence Shining of Spokane. There are 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren surviving. The Rev. Roger Johnson of Lind will conduct the funeral. Burial will be in the Lind cemetery. Danekas Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Mary Thiel, Pioneer Here, Succumbs at Hospital February 1 Mrs. Mary Thiel died Thursday morning of last week at the Ritzville Memorial hospital. She was 86 years old and had lived all but six months of her life in this county. She came here with her parents in a covered wagon. She was born September 13, 1881, at Culbertson, Neb., the daughter of George and Katherine Kanzler. She was a member of Philadelphia Congregational church, an honorary member of the Grace chapter of that church and a member of the Royal Neighbors. She moved to town from the farm in 1946. She had been a resident of Hillcrest Manor and at Ritzville Memorial hospital, the past seven years. Three sons survive their mother, Clarence Thiel of Washtucna, Lawrence Thiel of Ritzville and Daniel Thiel of Astoria, Ore. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. J. P. Koch of Ritzville and Mrs. David Weber of Odessa. Dan Kanzler is a brother. There are five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren surviving. The Rev. Ernest Sprenger conducted the funeral Saturday morning at Philadelphia Congregational church. Milton Sackmann sang "My God and I" and "In The Garden." Miss Kathi Rogel was organ accompanist. Pallbearers were Lamar Thiel, Dennis Thiel, Carl Ruud, Raymond Danekas, Victor Rogel and Jake Hoefel. Honored friends were Mrs. Dave Hoefel, Mrs. Susie Thom, Mrs. John Hoffman, Mrs. Anna Benzel, Mrs. Anna Danekas, Mrs. John Lenhart, Mrs. Emily Danekas, Mrs. William Thiel, Mrs. Dora Schafer and Mrs. Kate Pfenning. Burial was at Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Ethel Gillis Service Held at Washtucna WASHTUCNA - Funeral services were held Monday at the Community church here for Ethel Eva Gillis. She died Friday at the St. Ignatius hospital in Colfax. A long-time resident of Washtucna, she was 85 years of age. Ethel Eva Gillis was born in Cherry Valley, Prince Edward Islands, Canada, on July 2, 1882. She was the youngest of 11 children. Her father and mother were Stephen and Katherine Carrier. At the age of 12 she became a member of the Episcopal church. She later transferred her membership to the Presbyterian church in Washtucna. She and John D. Gillis were married April 2, 1907. The same year they came to Athena, Ore. In 1909 they settled on a farm near Washtucna. She resided in this community the rest of her life. Two daughters were born to the Gillis', Mrs. Everett (Velma) Sitton of Bellevue and Mrs. William (Vera) Russell of Moraga, Calif. There are six sons, Cecil, Ray and Vernon of Washtucna, Howard of El Sobrante, Calif., Angus Dean of Los Angeles and John D. of Enumclaw. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her husband died August 12, 1923. Mrs. Gillis was a member of Rimrock Grange, Emerald Rebekah lodge and the Adams County Historical society. She was also a charter member, past president and life member of the Missionary society; past president of the Round Table club; past noble grand of the Rebekah lodge; and past president of the district Rebekah lodge. She served a year as president of the Adams County Tuberculosis league and held offices in Rimrock Grange as well as being master of the third and fourth degree team. She was active in church work up to the time of her death. In 1962 and 1963 she held an office in the Mary Circle, as well as the woman's association. Mrs. Gillis had a gift of memorizing and her recitations, some of which she composed, are remembered by many in the community. Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Washtucna Community church with the Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Bud Lee sang "Sun of My Soul, Thou Savior Dear." Betty Lee was organist. Pallbearers were Floyd Cameron, Virgil Sitton, Archie Staley, Calvin Moesle, Don Esmay and James Murphy, jr. Burial was in the Washtucna cemetery. Editor Succumbs in New York City John G. Keeting, former editor and drama critic of Cue magazine, died January 29 in New York City. Keeting is survived by his wife, Marianne, well known here. Mrs. Keeting is the daughter of the former Amanda Bier, long-time operator of the Ritzville Hotel. Keeting's freelance work covered the broad range of show business and even his short pieces managed to convey a wide knowledge of the field, a tribute printed by the New York Times says. He was only 50, and died from cancer. Funeral Rites of Art Barnes Held Monday Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Danekas Funeral home for Arthur Earl Barnes. He died unexpectedly February 1 at the Ritzville Memorial hospital, having come to Ritzville from his home at Benge that morning. Mr. Barnes had been a cattle and wheat farmer for 35 years in the Benge community. He was born in Missouri July 9, 1885, and was 82 years of age. He is survived by his wife Bertha; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Irene) Lawhead of Kodiak, Alas.; and a son, Robert Barnes of Vancouver, Wash. A sister, Mrs. Clarence Florence of Warrensburg, Mo., also survives as do seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Barnes was a member of the Washington Association of Wheat Growers and Marcellus Grange. The Rev. Roger Johnson of Lind conducted the funeral. Gordon Swyter sang "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Mrs. Orville Moeller was organ accompanist. Burial was in Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers were Pete Caldwell, Charles Saunders, Roy Evanson, Gene Marsh, Calvin Miller and Dr. Bill Brock. Honorary pallbearers were George Calloway, Allen Scott, James Clinesmith, Charles Clinesmith and Walter Allert. Julia Steinhauser Funeral Set for Monday Julia V. Steinhauser died yesterday at the Ritzville Memorial hospital. She was 82 years old. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 o'clock at the Washtucna Community church. Mrs. Steinhauser was born April 5, 1885, at Fairberry, Ill., and had been a resident of the Ralston community for 20 years. She is survived by her husband Clifford, a daughter, Mrs. Ruben Hille of Ralston and a son Robert Steinhauser of Harlowtown, Mont. There are four grandchildren who survive. She was a member of the Washtucna Community church and of the Rebekah lodge at Harlowtown, Mont. The Rev. Ralph Smith will conduct the funeral. Cremation will follow with the ashes to be interred at Harlowtown. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, February 15, 1968 Elise Wellsandt Funeral Service is Held Tuesday Mrs. Elise Wellsandt died Friday of last week. She was 90 years of age. Funeral services were held at Emanuel Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Floyd Yokers conducting the service. Elise was born in Germany on September 9, 1877, the daughter of Friederick and Caroline Seeger. She came to this country with her parents in 1886. The lived in Wisconsin for a short time, then moved to Sprague. Elise lived at Sprague until her marriage September 9, 1894, at Ritzville to August Wellsandt, sr. The couple homesteaded five miles east of Ritzville. In 1910 they built a home just outside of Ritzville. Mr. and Mrs. Wellsandt lived there until 1938 when they retired and moved into Ritzville. Her husband died in 1952, and two sons, Walter and August Wellsandt, jr., preceded their mother in death. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran church. Three daughters survive, Mrs. Elsie Ott of Ritzville, Mrs. Quay (Sophia) Sewell of Spokane and Mrs. Joe T. Smith of Ritzville. Ted Wellsandt, a son, survives. Bruce Hille sang "My God and I" at the funeral. Mrs. Orville Moeller was organ accompanist. Pallbearers were Dennis and Donald Wellsandt, Gayle Gering, Lloyd Bourne, Robert Ott and Johnny Evans. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery. Danekas Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Anderson Rites to Be Saturday Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Anderson, 85, will be held at 1:30 Saturday from the Danekas Funeral home with the Rev. Gordon Welk officiating. Mrs. Anderson resided in Ritzville some years ago. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Betty Hix of Yuba City, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Grimes of Spokane and three grandchildren. She died February 13 at her home in Astoria, Ore. Mrs. Duncan Dies Sunday Mrs. Beatrice E. Duncan died Sunday in an Everett hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Hedgcock Funeral home, Langley, Whidbey Island. Interment was in the Langley cemetery. Her husband Eli died December 25, 1967. Together they had operated a funeral home in Ritzville for 14 years. She was born in Davenport 63 years ago. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Doris Burns and Mrs. Carlyle Whaley of Spokane, and Mrs. Phyllis G. Lattin, Seattle; two brothers, Hugh Buchanan, Waldport, Ore., and Wayne Buchanan, Spokane; two nieces and three nephews. Nina Motley Laid to Rest at Lind Funeral services were held Friday for Mina S. Motely at the Lind Methodist church. She had died February 6 at her home in Lind. The Rev. Roger Johnson of Lind conducted the funeral. Pallbearers were Bus Swartz, Emil Fritz, Booster Moon, Earl Johnstone, Glenn Haskins and Charlie Johnson. Burial was in the Lind cemetery. William Cronrath Funeral Thursday William Cronrath died February 5 at Ellensburg. Funeral services were Thursday. He was born March 5, 1893, at Daten, Germany, and came to the United States with his parents in 1895. The family moved to Adams county in 1902. He was married to Emmiline Haase June 24, 1928. The family moved to Ellensburg in 1941. He is survived by his wife, her brother J. John Haase of Espanola and a sister, Mrs. Henry Rott of Spokane. Toby Haase of Cheney is also a brother. Herb Haase of Washtucna is a nephew. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, February 22, 1968 Emma Anderson Funeral Held Here Saturday Funeral services for Emma Anderson were held at Danekas Funeral home chapel on Saturday, February 17, at 1:30 p.m. Interment was at Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Emma Schmidt Anderson was the daughter of Augusta and John Schmidt and was born at Red Wing, Minn., on January 21, 1883. The family later moved to Ritzville where Mrs. Anderson attended school. Shortly after her parents' deaths she moved from here. She was the wife of Harry Anderson and lived in Astoria, Ore., for about 40 years. Pallbearers at the funeral were L. J. Walker, Phil Langford, Ivan Heimbigner, John Selcho, Cliff Ahern and Levi Preston. The Rev. Gordon Welk officiated at the memorial services. Mrs. Anderson is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Fred Hix and three grandchildren of Yuba City, Calif.; a sister, Hattie Grimes of Spokane; and a cousin, Mrs. L. J. Walker of Ritzville. Amdrew Jantz Funeral Held Here Saturday Funeral services for Andrew Jantz, long-time area resident, were conducted in the Menno Mennonite church on Saturday, February 17, at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Harris Waltner officiating. Jantz was buried in the Mennonite church cemetery. He was born on March 3, 1882, the son of Cornelius and Maria Jantz near Marion, S. D., where he spent his youth. In 1903 he moved with his family to Washington, settling in the Marlin- Ruff community. In 1907 he was married to Wilhelmina Franz. The couple had two sons and four daughters. They operated a farm in Ruff until 1929 when they moved to another farm near Ritzville. There Mrs. Jantz died in 1935. Jantz left the farm and moved to Ritzville in 1942. He had been baptized in 1900; and when he moved to Washington had joined the Salem Mennonite church at Ruff. That congregation was later disbanded, and he joined the Menno Mennonite church in 1935 to which he belonged until his death. In his last years he suffered from Parkinson's disease, and since June of 1965 had resided at Hillcrest manor. Weakened by a recent seige of the flu, he died on Thursday, February 15, at Ritzville Memorial hospital. He was 85 years old. Pallbearers at the funeral were Roger Jantz and Gary Jantz, grandsons of the deceased, Melvin Benzel, Stanley Meyer, Andy Precht and Lyle Anderson. Survivors include a son, Walter and his wife Eva of Ritzville; three daughters, Martha and her husband Donald Robinson of Richmond, Va., Evelyn and her husband Clinton Claassen of Marlin and Malinda and her husband Milton Zilliox of Othello. He had 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. His two surviving brothers are John of Ritzville and Abe of Spokane. Funeral services were held February 8. He was born March 5, 1893, at Daten, Germany, and came to the United States with his parents in 1895. The family moved to Adams county in 1902. He was married to Emmeline Haase June 24, 1928. The family moved to Ellensburg in 1941. He was a member of the Good Hope Lutheran church. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Robert, Castroville, Calif.; three brothers, Paul of Spokane, Albert of Harrington and the Rev. Herman Cronrath of Cashmere. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Millie McCoy, San Diego, Calif. Funeral Is Held for Paul H. Kehn Walter Ashcraft, accompanied by his daughter, Mrs. Walleen Kehn of Kennewick, went to Clarkston last Tuesday for the funeral service for Mrs. Kehn's father-in-law, Paul H. Kehn. Kehn worked as a ranch hand for Sievers Brothers at Lind from about 1908 to around 1918, when he moved to Clarkston. He is survived by one daughter, a sister, two brothers and three grandchildren. A son, Harry, died in 1957. Anton Telecky Services Set for Thursday Funeral rites for Anton C. Telecky will be held at the Danekas Funeral home chapel on Thursday, February 22, at 2 p.m. Mr. Telecky is to be buried in the Ritzville Memorial cemetery following the service conducted by the Rev. Beryl Melcher. Telecky was born in Silver Lake, Minn., on June 4, 1891. Prior to his death he had lived at west 601 Augusta in Spokane with his wife Elma. He died at St. Luke's hospital in Spokane on February 19. Survivors besides his wife, include one step-son, Robert Telecky of Sprague; two sisters, Mrs. Matt Kubik of Ritzville and Mrs. Anna Briggs of Spokane; and a brother, Charles Telecky of Sprague. He had two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Memorials may be made to Zion Congregational church. Ritzville Journal-Times, Thursday, February 29, 1968 Mrs. Ott Buried in Lind Tuesday Anna Elizabeth Ott died on February 23 at Ritzville Memorial hospital. Mrs. Ott was 79 years old at the time of her death. The funeral was on Tuesday from the chapel of the Danekas Funeral home with the Rev. Edward Schmidt officiating. Interment was at the Lind cemetery. Mrs. Ott was born in Union Star, Mo., in 1888, but had lived in the Lind community for at least 41 years. Her husband Emery was a city policeman in Lind for 22 years before his death in 1951. Mrs. Ott is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ray Watkins of Lind, and a son, William Ott of Addy. She had five grandchildren and one nephew. Pallbearers were Edward Labes, Harold Hains, Irvin Swarts, Fred Beck, Edward Fode and Wendell Longmeier. Henry Michel, 92, a relative of the Oestreiches, Kochs, Kanzlers and Schmidts of the Adams county area, had been born in Russia and came to the United States at the age of 10 months. The family settled in Nebraska and later moved to Eastern Washington. He has spent the past many years in Tacoma and Hillsboro, Ore. Kenneth Sauer Funeral Set for Thursday Kenneth R. Sauer, 30, of Ritzville, died Sunday at his parent's home. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Ritzville Memorial hospital. No official coroner's report was available at the time of publication. He was born June 18, 1937, at Lind and is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Sauer, as well as three brothers and sisters. His sisters are Mrs. Guy R. Smith of Spokane, Mrs. Bill Wilson of Auburn, Calif., and Adelia Sauer of Medical Lake. His brothers are Hilmer of Ritzville, Clifford of Spokane and Adolph of Chewelah. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Danekas Funeral home, with the Rev. Gordon Welk officiating. Interment will be at Ritzville Memorial cemetery. The pallbearers are to be Tom German, Don Geschke, Ray Burghard, Gary Marshall, Roger Marshall and Dennis Wellsandt. Leonard were held Tuesday at Danekas Funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Interment followed at Bemis cemetery, Ralston. Leonard died at his rural Ralston home on Saturday. He was 71 years old. He was born at Ralston on March 16, 1897, and spent his life there. He is survived by his wife Margaret at the home and by three sisters and four brothers. His sisters are Mrs. Virgil Sitton of Washtucna, Mrs. Edward Kinzel of Reno, Nev., and Margaret Leonard of Ritzville. His brothers are Carl Leonard of Loveland, Colo., Dean and Robert Leonard, both of Buckley and Howard Leonard of Ritzville. Pallbearers at the funeral were Art Benzel, Dale Taylor, Neil Maxwell, Chester Bell, Lester Snyder and Vernon Wellsandt. Leonard was a member of the Christian church, the Ralston Grange and of Modern Woodmen. Kulm Child Funeral Saturday Graveside services will be held this morning for Johnnae Dee Kulm. Johnnae was the seven-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kulm of Lind who died Monday. She is survived by her parents and three brothers, Richard, a student at Yakima junior college, Ronnie and Randy at home. Also surviving is a grandmother, Mrs. Jack King of Ritzville. The graveside services are at 10 a.m. at the Lind cemetery with the Rev. F. J. Ahrendt of Spokane officiating. Stewart Funeral Held in Benton City Church CUNNINGHAM - Carl W. Stewart of Richland died March 14 in the Kadlec Memorial hospital in Richland after being a patient there the past month. He was the father of Bernard Stewart of Cunningham. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Benton City last Tuesday. Concluding services were held at the cemetery in Benton City.
