Labes early Sunday, May 11, at Ritzville Memorial Hospital. Suffering a heart attack earlier at her home, she was taken to the hospital by the Lind ambulance and was claimed by a second attack at 5:30 a.m. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 14, at 2:00 p.m. from Good Hope Lutheran Church with the Rev. William N. Leed officiating. With Mrs. Ted Potter at the organ, Mrs. Henry Franz sang "My God and I" and "O Master, Let Me Walk With Thee." Graveside services and interment took place at the Lind Cemetery under the direction of Danekas Funeral Home, Ritzville. Amanda was born December 11, 1909 in Lind to August and Justine (Jeske) Labes. Her mother died in 1941 and her father in 1956. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Einar (Carla) Bengtson and two grandchildren, Einar L. and Sandra J., all of Lind; one sister, Mrs. Jack (Selda) O'Neil of Spokane, and two brothers, Albert W. and Edward A., both of Lind. She was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church, ALCW, the American Iris Society, and a charter member of Eugene D. Kirby Unit No. 190, American Legion Auxiliary.
