SIMPTF@aol.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Green Place Cemetery T6N R43E Section 11 The Green Place Cemetery, is located on the knob east of the log farm house of pioneer Jesse R. Greene, on the Grouse Flat Bench in southwestern Asotin County, about three quarters of a mile north of the Oregon line, and four miles east of the Garfield County line, and located on the brakes of the large Menatchee Canyon to the east and the Grande Ronde River Canyon to the south, with the Lost Prairie area of northern Wallowa County, Oregon, across the Grande Ronde Canyon. The graves are located on the north side of the knob. The graves are: Martha Elizabeth Greene Young: b. 25 Dec. 1846 Yancy Co. NC, d. Feb. 10, 1909 Mrs. A.A. (Sarah) Cox: age 58, buried there March 31, 1913. Ashes of Harlan Greene, b. 9 May 1896, d. Apr 1971, were scattered there. Ashes of Mrs. Harlan (Vera) Greene; d. Nov 1978, were scattered there. Note: Martha Elizabeth Greene Young was the sister of Jesse R. Greene (Jesse was the father of Harlan Greene). Martha Elizabeth was the Great Grandmother of the submitter.
