INDIAN BURIAL GROUND MANSON, CHELAN CO, WASHINGTON T28N R21E Section 36 ************************************************ Copyright. All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Information submitted by Teresa Sandum, November 17, 2006. The Indian Burial Ground is located off of Wapato Lake Rd in an orchard on private property across from the Mill Bay Casino. I visited this cemetery in 1999 with William “Bill” Wapato Evans, the previous caretaker of the Wapato Point Cemetery and grandson of Peter Wapato. The cemetery is a green area of grass, approximately 30 by 30 square feet in size, surrounded entirely by an orchard. To his knowledge, this burial ground was last used prior to the opening of the Wapato Point Cemetery in 1886. No information is available regarding names, how many were buried here or when the burials took place. There are no markers or even a fence to signify its existence.
