Maintained by the Sequim Prairie Garden Club. No burials since 1904. This is no longer a cemetery. All recoverable remains where removed to Dungeness Cemetery." (Or Sequim View \ Cemetery-there is some conflicting information about this). Contact: Mt. Angeles Memorial Park." (The City of Sequim is taking over in 2001.) From CLALLAM COUNTY COURTHOUSE RECORDS, VITAL STAISTICS SECTION OLYMPIC HEALTH DISTRICT, PORT ANGELES, WASHINGTON 1907-1937...: "A copy of the Sequim cemetery, now known as Pioneer Memorial Park, in the town of Sequim, Washington, located on Highway 101, can be found in the Clallam County, Washington, Courthouse Plat Records, Port Angeles, Washington, Volume 2, page 55 of Plat Records." "(Note: the graves in the Pioneer Memorial Sequim Cemetery, Sequim, Washington, were removed to Sequim View Cemetery about 1912/13. Some tombstones are still located in the Pioneer Memorial Park in the town of Sequim, Washington. They have been mounted in cement, and placed in a small area in a corner of Pioneer Memorial Park in Sequim, For a list of the tombstone inscriptions with data, see Washington State Society, Daughters of the American Revolution Genealogical Records Book, Volume 34, 1965-1966, page 197." Fish 1979 reprint 1985: "...standing on the edge of Pioneer Memorial Park where Sequim's first cemetery was located, now you will find a cluster of unclaimed markers from lost graves in the corner of the Park." From: SEQUIM PRESS May 12, 1982: "Pioneer Park-located on h-w 101 south as you approach the town of Sequim, WA was know as SEQUIM CEMETERY before it was a park. Sequim Prairie Garden Club acquired the 3 acre tract of land to beautify it as a roadside park ... some of the burials and head stones were moved to Sequim View and Dungeness cemeteries."
