The marriage license business is rushing this week. The record was broken Monday when eight licenses were issued at Vancouver, most of them to Clarke county parties. Burglars entered Brice's store at Ridgefield last Monday night and secured a quantity of shoes and underwear. As yet there is no clue to the perpretators. Prof. and Mrs. Barnes spent Christmas with Hood River friends. Pat Cahill who smashed in the fornt windows of Haffey's saloon with a "big stick" last Saturday morning was taken to Vancouver and lodged in the county jail where he is furnishing entertainment for the other prisoners by playign on his flute. He has secured an attorney to defend him when the case is called fo rtrial. Mr.C.H.Yana who is connected with the UNion Bank & Trust Co. of Aberdeen,Wash., and who is organizing a new bank at Willamina,Oregon, is spending Christmas with O.F. Johnson.
