"Happy" McKever who went to The Dalles to spend his money didn't have to stay long.He is back again working at his regular trade. Mrs.Kate Yettick and son, and Harry Farrell of Portland, are visiting their parents Mr. and Mrs. James Farrell od this place. Mrs.Scott of St.Johns,Oregon, has been visiting relatives here for a few days. Mrs.J.R. Fletcher has been suffering from a very bad cold for more than a week. Robert and Lindley McQueen,of Harmony, called at John McQueen's last Sunday afternoon. Msses Anna and Ruth Bergmann, who have been staying in Vancouver are at home for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. S.L.Elliott and new daughter, Grace, of Proebstel, took Christmas dinner at W.L. Howlands. Mr. and Mrs. P. Blair of Mill Plain, spent Christmas on the Prairie with their children and grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Higdon and daughter, Josephiine, of Orchards, spent Chirstmas at J.S.McAllisters. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Biesecker, of Amboy, and James McKeel, of Bridal Veil,Oregon, spent Christmas at W.S.Hall's. Mr. and Mrs. A.J.Kocher ntertained her Sunday School class of young people at her home last Thursday evening. A very pleasant time was had. Mr. and Mrs. William Kocker and daughter, Wilma, of Portland, visited relatives at this place for a few days. Owing to ill health I desire to sell my property or will rent already furnished for $15 a month. House is brand new and nicely furnished. Pat Cahill, who smashed the Haffey saloon windows two weeks ago was fined $20 by Judge McCredie, of Vancouver, last Monday. Being unable to pay he was given a jail sentence. Rev. and Mrs. Noble entertained during the holidays, their children, mr. and Mrs. Sanders, of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Happiset and two children , of La Grande, and Mrs. Burch of Portland, a sister of Mrs. NOble. J.R. Tremblath of Oregon City was here this week and accompanied his brother H.Tremblath to Portland, where he consulted a physician.
